North Star Lodge

Killington Peak soars more than 4,000 feet high, making it the longest vertical drop in New England. While naturally a major ski destination, the mountain keeps visitors active in warmer months too, with championship golfing as well as wine and music festivals, hiking, and disc golf. North Star Lodge encourages exploration in any season by helping wanderers set up base camp in its resort and using its outdoor pool—heated to a steamy 102 degrees year-round—to soothe snow-swept muscles and ward off abominable snowmen trying to show off their water wings. Accommodations range from traditional hotel rooms to jacuzzi suites, but all include complimentary HBO and WiFi. Before heading outside to the picnic area or free shuttle to Killington's base, where barbecue grills nestle amid pine groves, guests can head to the lobby for free coffee and tea, served fresh 24 hours a day.
