Choose Between Two Options

  • $45 for a two-hour guided kayak tour with equipment and wine tasting for one (a $90 value)
  • $85 for a two-hour guided kayak tour with equipment and wine tasting for two (a $180 value)

A shuttle picks up participants at 9 a.m. and ferries them to Silver Lake. Once in the water, guides teach groups how to operate kayaks before commencing a relaxed journey that highlights the history, geology, and wildlife of the area. Mount St. Helens looms in the distance as kayakers traverse the glacier-fed waters, chancing upon views of bald eagles and deer. After their paddling session, groups head to Mt. St. Helens Cellars to enjoy a private tour of the winery and to sample six wines in the tasting room.

NorthWest EcoExcursions

A family of ducks swims along Devils Lake, river otters play across Lake Merwin, and a kayak tour floats along the water. When Tracie Driver started NorthWest EcoExcursions, she envisioned a recreation company that would combine outdoor thrills with respect for the environment. To this end, NorthWest's guides, who each boast either a postgraduate education or more than 10 years in park-ranger experience, educate their customers on local wildlife and geology during trips that run the gamut from hiking to whale watching to goat-packing tours. The staff also maintains eco-friendly practices, serving strictly organic foods on camping trips and ensuring all of their office's plants are 100% solar powered.

The Groupon Guide to: Airplane-Seat Pockets

Most air-travel anxiety stems from not knowing where the plane is going, which local news personalities might be on the flight, and what exactly will be in the seat pocket in front of you. For now, modern science is only able to anticipate the last part:

  • Pamphlet detailing what to do if everyone on the plane turns into an expressionless cartoon

  • Copy of SkyMall dog-eared to the page with the slippers that scream when you step in something wet

  • Action figure of captain currently flying the plane

  • Discarded packet of Edible Jet-ibles™—"The Crackers That Break Apart Just Like a Real Boeing 737"

  • Plastic bag (for your secrets)

Why aren’t there more flight-attendant action figures?
