Friday-night skating sessions are from 6:45 p.m. to 8:15 p.m., and all-day sessions are held December 21–January 1 (closed December 25). All options include rental skates.

On any given day, NYTEX Sports Centre's expansive compound––with plentiful courts, fields, and an ice rink––can simultaneously host a youth soccer match, a women's flat-track roller derby, and a rowdy Texas Brahmas professional ice hockey game. As a hub for world-class competitors and recreational athletes of all kinds, the 140,000-square-foot playpen welcomes casual skaters to explore the same full-size rink the CHL pros play on during open-skate sessions and amateur hockey leagues. NYTEX's birthday-party packages also grant rink access to up to 10 partygoers for celebratory skating and "Happy Birthday" songs sung by a chorus of revving Zambonis. Special community events, such as the annual Armed Forces Hockey Classic, call the sport's complex their home, while the on-site Italian restaurant, ZuRoma, replenishes calories spent cheering on favorite teams.
