Questions and Answers

if I prchase this offer, can my 16 year old son use the pass to enter the zoo without me as he drives and may want to visit the zoo during school breaks

carolyn s. asked 4 months, 24 days, 12 hours, and 56 minutes ago - 1 answer

Eric M.

Our named adults must be age 18 or older - your son, even though he drives - must vist with one of the two named adults.

Hi, is this $59 amount tax deductible? Thanks.

Yukai S. asked 4 months, 24 days, 12 hours, and 59 minutes ago - 1 answer

Eric M.

No it is not. The value of the passes (guest and ride) negate any charitable gift.

Can my husband (who has never been a zoo member) purchase this deal and name me as the second adult (i was a member before)?

Helen N. asked 4 months, 24 days, 14 hours, and 45 seconds ago - 1 answer

Sammy T.

No, you would be ineligible as this offer is for new members only.

Sammy T. answered 4 months, 24 days, 13 hours, and 3 minutes ago

Does this membership also include admission to the Lindsay Wildlife Museum?

Rachel E. asked 4 months, 24 days, 13 hours, and 19 minutes ago - 1 answer

Eric M.

Our members currently receive a 50% discount on admission at Lindsay Wildlife Museum. Please note that our reciprocity list is constantly changed and updated throughout the year without notice. We suggest that you purchase your Zoo membership based upon admission to the Oakland Zoo and not upon reciprocity discounts.

Hi, I bought this as a gift for a friend who never had the membership. Will the cards be sent to me under my billing address (Because there is no place to put their home address, it just took my billing address from my credit card)? So do I go with them to the zoo to change the names over to their family? I also clicked on print the voucher instead of emailing it to them. Help help!

Pat C. asked 4 months, 24 days, 13 hours, and 52 minutes ago - 1 answer

Eric M.

Once you receive the cards, contact our office and we'll reissue the cards under the name of your friend. There will be a number included in the welcome packet that you'll receive within 3 weeks.

Is there a way to do the groupon for a family plus membership? We have a nanny who watches the kids during the week. We'd like her to be able to take the kids to the zoo when school is closed. My husband and I would take the kids on weekends. We would never have all 3 adults together. Will a family membership work or do we have to get family plus? Thanks.

Julia Y. asked 4 months, 24 days, 14 hours, and 23 minutes ago - 1 answer

Eric M.

Here's your best option. Purchase this offer and wait for your new cars to arrive in 3 weeks. Visit the Zoo and upgrade your membership to include another adult for an additional $20.

Eric M. answered 4 months, 24 days, 14 hours, and 15 minutes ago

In one section it notes 2 adults and 4 children, however, in another it notes 2 adults and 2 children, so which is it? A family membership is available to new zoo members and unlocks unlimited zoo admission for two adults aged 18 and older and four children aged 2–17 on 362 days of the year. After checkout, buyers will enter the full name, phone number, and email address for each adult. Within three weeks, they'll receive membership cards, each of which will grant the named adult entry for themselves and two kids.

Tina G. asked 4 months, 24 days, 14 hours, and 25 minutes ago - 1 answer

Eric M.

Hi Tina. We'll be correcting that today - great catch! The ofeer is for 2 named adults and up to 4 children.

Is it free parking for one vehicle for the entie year or just one visit?

Kristin M. asked 4 months, 24 days, 14 hours, and 25 minutes ago - 1 answer

Eric M.

Great question! It's for the entire year.

Eric M. answered 4 months, 24 days, 14 hours, and 24 minutes ago

I'm confused by the expiration date. If it is a one year membership, why does it expire in less than a month?

Jennifer J. asked 4 months, 24 days, 14 hours, and 34 minutes ago - 1 answer

Eric M.

Hi Jennifer. The actual Groupon offer expires on January 2, 2013 - however, if you purchase this offer, you'll receive cards with an expiration date of January 31, 2014.

Eric M. answered 4 months, 24 days, 14 hours, and 28 minutes ago

I was a member previously but my membership expired a few months ago. I realize this isn't meant for renewals, but am I able to purchase this since I'm not a current member? Thanks.

nami t. asked 4 months, 24 days, 14 hours, and 35 minutes ago - 1 answer

Eric M.

Unfortunately this offer is meant for new members only. If you are a current member, or have been a member of the Zoo at some point in the past, you are not elligible for this offer
