Will this lesson take us on the water out in the bay or it will be relegated to a classroom setting?

Allison M.

My questions is the same – can anyone respond to if there will be some training in the water itself?

Monica W.

the website says so:

“This two-hour skippered charter is designed to provide folks who are considering getting into sailing with a real glimpse of the sport, our club and our people.
Two hours on beautiful San Francisco Bay will help you to determine if you want to make sailing a bigger part of your life”

I’m thinking about taking a varsity team out w/about 20-25 in my group. Is it possible to get a Friday time slot?

Katarzyna O.

I would love to take my daughter to this but she is only 11. The flying offer from yesterday had the same age limit, minimum 16. It would be great to get some groupons for activities that don’t exclude kids/pre-teens. Thanks !

Inna V.

I would like to buy a few Groupons so I can take some friends. It doesn’t say the Groupon limit in the details…can I assume there is none?

Bayle D.

I just tried to purchase this deal and after I pressed Buy a screen popped up saying “Something Broke.” I went through the process again with the same results. Please let me know if my purchase was processed. I only want 1 lesson but want to make sure I purchase it.
Thank you.

Bayle D.

No. I only wanted one and just received two confirmation emails. Please correct this.

I too am receiving the ‘something broke’ message. Please let me know how to confirm my purchase of 2 lessons. Thank you.

Hoi F.

I received the same “something broke” message — not sure if the transaction went through, but so far no confirmation emails.

Lisa B.

Same issue. Got the something broke message. Did my transaction go through

Kerala H.

my friend and i both got that page after placing our orders. she refreshed the page and it gave her a confirmation, i just got a confirmation email a few minutes after placing my order.

Elizabeth B.

Check under “My Stuff” before you re-try the purchase. I got the same message but it still went through, and I received an email confirmation a few minutes later.

Miriam C.

Same as above, received the “something broke msg” but it shows that it is being processed when I look in the "my stuff’ section

Is there a cap on the number of Groupons that can be purchased for this deal? If classes are offered 3 times a day on Saturdays (2x per Saturday Nov-April), that means 12-18 students per day once a week. At the moment, with approx 800 Groupons purchased, that means at least 54 saturdays would be necessary to accommodate everyone, but the Groupon expires in a year, and there will be non-Groupon customers as well. Thoughts?

Been trying for 30 minutes to buy 8, and it says things about the Limit and Something Broke. Pretty sure that by the time this gets working we’ll not be able to buy tickets, or all available dates this summer will be taken. Bummer

Madeline b.

I told me something broke, so I tried again. Now I have two. I’m not entirely sure I wanted two.

Ryan C.

Be careful – each time you get the SOMETHING BROKE message it is charges your account. I had to go through customer service to delete each of these. And if it charges your card there is a possibility it will take 3-5 days for the funds to be returned to your account.

OK…. went to “My Stuff” and found that instead of one purchase of 8, which was not confirmed because I kept getting Limit and Something Broke messages, I had actually purchased a set of 8 … three times. So went in and cancelled two orders (totalling 16). Hoping cancellations go through, and the purchase goes through, and that my credit card bill isn’t going to look all wacky.

Hello
I need to know how big is the group, in which the training will be given? Is it like 10 people or lesser??

Diane B.

just looked up the info regarding maximum number – go to their website – click on intro lesson – it say 6 is the max.

Katarzyna O.

I looked at their scheduling for intro classes and also called them. For 26 weeks they have only 2 time slots (Saturdays only) when they have those classes, and the other 26 weeks there are 3 time slots. During each time slot there are 2 yachts, each accomodating 6 students. So with the intended schedule they will be able to accomodate only 1560 people per year (which is less than the # of groupons sold) and I am sure they have plenty of OTHER (ie non-groupon) people that will want to book it.
So, since I already purchased the groupon I would like to know if OCSC Sailing is planning to significantly increase the thruput, or if groupon will be accepting returns if the scheduling turns out be too difficult. Thank you.

Sold out?! I never knew groupons could be sold out. It hasn’t even been midnight PST yet for deal to end, and yet it’s sold out? First time ever seeing this.

same here. didn’t know groupons could sell out. bummer because i was only an hour late (thought you can get it with no problems until midnight PT).
