The Issue: High Euthanasia Rate of Cats in Shelters
About five to seven million companion animals enter US shelters each year, and nearly 70% of cats are euthanized, according to data from the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
The Campaign: Preparing Cats for Adoption
If 51 people donate $10 to this Grassroots campaign, then Ohio Alleycat Resource & Spay/Neuter Clinic can prepare six cats for adoption. The cats require a variety of medical treatments before they can find loving, permanent homes, including spaying or neutering, rabies and distemper vaccinations, microchipping, a parasite treatment, and a test for FeLV and FIV. Each additional $85 raised will fund medical treatments to prepare another cat for adoption.

Ohio Alleycat Resource & Spay/Neuter Clinic
Ohio Alleycat Resource & Spay/Neuter Clinic (OAR) works to enrich the lives of cats and communities in Greater Cincinnati through low-cost spay or neuter surgeries as well as a no-kill adoption center dedicated to finding loving, permanent homes for cats and kittens. Along with its standard spay or neuter services, OAR helps to protect feral cats and keep the cat population in check through its trap-neuter-return program, in which cats are humanely trapped and spayed or neutered before being returned to their outdoor lives.
