$19 for a Chinese New Year Walking Tour for Two ($38 Value)

Choose from the 4 p.m. or 7:30 p.m. tour on Sunday, February 10, or Sunday, February 17.

The 60-minute tour kicks off in Centennial Square. From there, a knowledgeable guide leads tourists through Chinatown's vibrant streets to take in sights such as Fan Tan Alley—reputedly North America's narrowest street—as well as a Chinese public school. During the tour, they'll teach guests the meaning of Chinatown's many Chinese characters and tell a variety of Chinese folktales, as well as the tale behind the Chinese zodiac.

Oldest Chinatown Walking Tours

When Chinese native Su Ma isn't working as an education assistant, she takes to Chinatown's enigmatic streets to educate the public on the district's vibrant history. As a guide for Oldest Chinatown Walking Tours, the long-term Victoria resident leads tours across the threshold of Bright Pearl's vibrantly coloured, traditional pagoda arch into the busy streets and through the infamous Fan Tan Alley, which is widely regarded as the narrowest street in North America and all of Mars. As she strolls, she teaches guests about the history of Victoria's Chinatown and the brave immigrant families that once called it home, explains any Chinese symbols she comes across, and tells tales from Chinese folklore.

The Groupon Guide to: Astronaut Skills

Astronauts need to be world-class athletes, die-hard patriots, and scientific masterminds, but any montage of astronaut training also reveals these other crucial skills they possess:

  • Holding your breath for more than 30 seconds, even if someone is trying to make you laugh
  • Saying "Tang tastes as good as orange juice" with a straight face
  • Being blessed with particularly flappable cheeks
  • Juggling three beanbags at once (if you're that good on Earth, imagine how good you'll be without gravity!)
  • Being bald or having very little hair (male astronauts only)
  • Naming all the planets in correct order in fewer than three tries
  • Providing their own space suit

Do you have the unexpected skills needed to be an unlikely astronaut? Find out in today's Groupon Guide.
