Commonly Asked Questions

Do I need the actual prescription or can you get it from my current glasses?

Susan J. asked 10 months, 12 days, 23 hours, and 1 minute ago - 1 answer

GiGi W.

Hi Susan, thanks for your post. We can certainly copy the prescription from your current glasses, that's not a problem at all. See you soon!

Does this include the lenses or just frames?

Kasandra B. asked 10 months, 12 days, 22 hours, and 57 minutes ago - 1 answer

GiGi W.

Hi Kasandra, thanks for your question! This Groupon deal applies to the entire purchase of frame and prescription lenses, in other words, if your frame costs less than $150, the remaining amount goes towards your lenses too. Plus, we definitely have a large selection of frames and lenses that would not require you to pay more than what you did for the Groupon itself. Cheers!

Can this deal be used towards non-prescription sunglasses?

Abdul C. asked 10 months, 12 days, 22 hours, and 22 minutes ago - 1 answer

GiGi W.

Hi Abdul, thanks for your post! This $19 for $150 Groupon deal applies only to prescription eyewear. But not to worry, we do have other in-store promotions for our non-prescription sunglasses, such as 30% off for this summer. So please do feel free to come into our stores and check out our latest styles! See you soon.

Will an insurance receipt be issued? What is the amount of the receipt ($19 + value over $150?)

Dania C. asked 10 months, 12 days, 22 hours, and 8 minutes ago - 1 answer

GiGi W.

Hi Dania, thanks for your post! If your prescription glasses purchase total exceeds $150, we will issue you a receipt for the exceeding amount that you physically pay to our store. For example, if your glasses total came out to be $200, you would only be paying $50 to our store, so we would issue you an insurance receipt in the amount of $50. Se you soon!

Hi.can i combine two coupons towards the purchase of 1 pair of prescription sunglasses?

Ruby K. asked 10 months, 12 days, 20 hours, and 31 minutes ago - 1 answer

GiGi W.

Hi Ruby, thanks for asking! One Groupon ticket applies to one pair of prescription eyeglasses only. With our deals though (and depending on your prescription strength, of course), there are definitely options where you can fit an entire pair of prescription sunglasses under $150 so you don't pay anything on top of the Groupon ticket. And if it goes over $150 then you would simply pay the difference. Cheers!

I need a pair of both prescription sunglasses and prescription eyeglasses. Can I buy 2 coupons and apply one to each pair?

do you have any prescription sunglasses that are less then $198 (designers or non designers) do you do the glasses on site to be picked up within 1 hrs or does it take longer? if takes longer can you mail them out to clients? thank you

eli l. asked 10 months, 8 days, 20 hours, and 26 minutes ago - 1 answer

GiGi W.

Hi Eli, prescription sunglasses usually take 1-2 weeks for completion because they are custom-made with each other. We can certainly mail it out to you if you need, but we do need you to physically come into the store first to get measurements the first time, then we can mail it out to you. Depending on where you want it mailed to and the shipping method, that can be provided for around $10-$30. We do carry non-designer frames which we can put prescription sunglass lenses into for under $198. Usually with designer frames it will go over $198 once you add the lenses. I hope this helps, see you soon!

Would the insurance receipt include the $19 we paid for this Groupon?

A. L. asked 10 months, 9 days, 9 hours, and 36 minutes ago - 1 answer

GiGi W.

Hi Hong! In fact, insurance companies will reject receipts if they do not reflect the amount paid directly to the optical dispensiary; that is why as a general rule, we only issue receipts for the balance that you paid NOT including Groupon. Hope this helps, and see you soon!

Hi, On your groupon page, the picture features Ic! Berlin frame. Do you carry Ic! Berlin frames? Thanks for replying.

Eric L. asked 10 months, 9 days, 15 hours, and 30 minutes ago - 1 answer

GiGi W.

Hi Eric, we currently do not carry Ic! Berlin frames. In fact, the frames in the display picture are French OGA frames by Morel, in the Altra model. The arms are wooden and it is an incredibly beautiful frame! We also carry Wolfgang Proksch frames which are most similar to Ic! Berlin frames in our Downtown location. We'd love to show you some and see how you like them!

Do you do prism lenses?

Cheryl B. asked 10 months, 9 days, 22 hours, and 59 minutes ago - 1 answer

GiGi W.

Hi Cheryl, we certainly do! Please feel free to drop by either of our stores to speak with one of our opticians to find out the best lens options for you. Typically it is only a $30 charge for low-power prismatic lenses. If it is stronger the charge may be different, but our opticians are standing by for a consultation! See you soon.

Do I have to purchase frames? or could I bring the frame I have which I want the prescription lenses to be attached to? to be clear, this is my case: I need 3 pairs of glasses (my father's, my mother's, and mine), so I would buy 3 vouchers: 1) I will bring a frame for me and want progressive bifocal, polycarbonate, high index lenses mounted to it 2) I will also bring a frame for my father which requires progressive bifocal, polycarbonate lenses mounted to it 3) Finally, I will also bring a frame for my mother which requires progressive bifocal, polycarbonate lenses mounted to it so, in total it will be an order of 3 prescription lenses, which I bring the 3 frames for; I would pay the lenses and poly-carbonate options for the three. I would by 3 vouchers, one for each of us. If my calculations are correct as per the site, the total cost for me would be: 3 x $128 (progressive) + 3 x$ 30 (polycarbonate) + 1x$160 (high index for just one glass)= $634- 3x ($150 voucher) = $184 to pay AND all the 3 pairs would include 5 coatings, since they are free for prescription lenses. Finally, can your response through this forum taken as official response from the optical, which would be honored? please, confirm. I tried to be as detailed as possible in my question so you can provide a direct answer to my case. Regards, Tony

tony l. asked 10 months, 10 days, 17 hours, and 59 minutes ago - 1 answer

GiGi W.

Hi Tony, thanks for the detailed question! Actually the Groupon deal applies only to the purchase of both frame and prescription lenses, and NOT for lens only. That being said, we have very competitive pricing on our progressive lenses. High-index progressive lenses are only $168 a pair including all 5 coatings. Of course since you are doing 3 pairs we could even offer you better pricing. If you are planning on visiting our Scarborough please call 416.298.8595 and ask for me, Gigi, or Tim. If you are planning on going to Downtown store, please call 416.603.0388 and ask for Thara or Jacky. See you soon!

If I intend to make a purchase of over $198 will i get a free eye exam and use this groupon and pay the difference ? also $198 is that after tax or before tax?

mike asked 10 months, 10 days, 18 hours, and 32 minutes ago - 1 answer

GiGi W.

Hi Mike, unfortunately the Groupon deal cannot be combined with our other in-store offers such as the free eye exam. If you choose to use the Groupon deal, the eye exam will have to be paid at regular price which is $75. Prescription glasses never have tax added to them because they are considered medical appliances and Canada does not charge tax on that. If you'd like to book an eye exam at our Scarborough store, please call 416.298.8595. For an appointment at the Downtown store, please call 416.603.0388. Cheers!

Hi..From when is this deal applicable or can be used..? How long will it take to get the glasses? I am getting them for my dad and all i have is his prescription..He is not here.Is that okie

Sakina K. asked 10 months, 10 days, 17 hours, and 3 minutes ago - 1 answer

GiGi W.

Hi Sakina, thanks for your post! You can start using this coupon as soon as today! Depending on the prescription strength and type of lenses, it could take anywhere from 1-hr to 2 weeks to get the glasses. If his prescription already has the PD (pupillary distance) measurement on it measured by the optometrist, and he wants single-vision glasses, we don't need him to come into the store physically. But if he wants to get multi-focals we do need him to come in for further measurements. I hope this helps, cheers!
