It is important to find out more details. There are a number of things that can cause the nails to darken and he would need to be evaluated by a physician. Please have him call tomorrow and speak with one of our physicians. In terms of prevention, a large part of the appointment is spent discussing ways to prevent reinfection.

Is your treament safe for a pregnant woman? Usually, nail fugus treatment wasn't recommended since antifugal medicaitons could cause birth effect.

Yoonsun L. asked 8 months, 15 hours, and 57 minutes ago - 1 answer

Dr J.

Unfortunately, laser treatment is not recommended in pregnancy. It would be best to wait until after the pregnancy to perform any treatments.

I have fungus on toes of both feet - how many treatments are necessary to cure the fungus?

Carole B. asked 8 months, 16 hours, and 27 minutes ago - 1 answer

Dr J.

In most cases only one treatment is needed; however stubborn cases may need additional treatment (some cases need 2 or 3 treatments). As with any fungal infection, preventing re-infection is important. Our physicians will teach you homecare to prevent re-infection. If you need additional treatments: Re-treatment (performed within 12 months of your initial treatment) is provided at $199 for one foot (or hand) and $299 for both feet (or hands).

My son is 2 years old and needs this treatment. The promotion says must be 16 years or older. Is this for the person making the purchase, or the person receiving the treatment? Thank you.

Jon D. asked 8 months, 16 hours, and 53 minutes ago - 1 answer

Dr J.

The patient receiving the treatment should be over 16 years old. In some cases we may treat children younger than 16; though 2 years old is too young to safely perform laser treatment.

i have only one toe (big) on each foot infected. can i purchase the 1 foot deal?

jennifer f. asked 8 months, 17 hours, and 9 minutes ago - 1 answer

Dr J.

Nail fungus is contagious, so our doctors treat all 5 nails on each affected foot. So the 'both feet' option is for you!
