Tea is best when served piping hot and ladled into your mouth by a farmer's wife who found you just lying out there in the cold and nursed you back to health. Enjoy your tea, you mysterious stranger, with this Groupon.

$15 for Admission for Two ($30 Value)

The second annual Ottawa Tea Festival takes place at the Ottawa Convention Centre on Saturday, December 1, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

After a welcome from festival organizer and Kimicha Tea founder Kimiko Uriu, attendees can drop by events that include presentations on finding the best black tea, the health benefits of various types of teas, and Indian folk, Bollywood, and Sri Lankan dance performances. At 3 p.m., certified Japanese tea-ceremony conductor Kyoko Kosaki presides over her exacting art, and a Chinese tea presentation by Tao Wu of Tao Tea Leaf follows at 4 p.m. Other speakers include Louise Roberge, president of the Tea Association of Canada, and Yumiko Tsunakawa, an established ikebana artist and instructor. To complement the steamy beverages, exhibitors from Koko Chocolates, Hummingbird Chocolate, Heavenly Honey, and other gourmet producers will also offer tastes of their products. Proceeds from the festival go to benefit Asha for Education Canada, a secular and apolitical non-profit organization that supports educational programs for underprivileged children in India.

Ottawa Tea Festival

First held in 2011, the Ottawa Tea Festival steeps visitors in an enticing blend of scholars, performers, and tea enthusiasts from near and far. Guests can explore exhibitions and presentations on the art of the ancient beverage or take in showcases of East Asian dance companies, performances from world- and folk-music acts, and demonstrations by professional pinkie-extenders. This annual event affords plenty of opportunities to taste unfamiliar brews and explore the traditions of far-flung cultures, all while rubbing elbows with local tea merchants.

The Groupon Guide to: Hotel Amenities

Most people choose a hotel based on what amenities it offers and how many of its TV channels show a live feed of the local city council. Here are some of the amenities that you might be lucky enough to experience on your next trip:

  • Pool full of people who can swim but not as well as you
  • Room service delivered directly to the hotel restaurant
  • Dogs that will keep your sheets warm when you're not using the bed and special electric jackets that will keep the dogs warm
  • Spa where they at least brush your teeth for you instead of just squishing your muscles
  • Unlimited wigs, so you can really feel like you're escaping
  • Rooms where families can go to yell at each other
  • An in-room safe for keeping items so valuable you would never trust yourself to touch them
  • Free wireless Internet that only goes to the hotel's email provider, Hotelwhispers.net
