Choose from Three Options

  • $55 for one lemongrass mani-pedi (a $115 value)
  • $99 for two lemongrass mani-pedis (a $230 value)
  • $55 for one geranium-sage resurfacing facial, available at the Mashpee location only (a $110 value)

The fragrant mani-pedi includes a 30- to 40-minute lemongrass renewing manicure and a 70-minute lemongrass luxury pedicure. Technicians soothe dry skin with a moisture-intensive elbow and foot treatment, cuticle mask, and extended massage, and deepen the relaxation by soaking feet in an old-fashioned washtub heated by basalt stones. Fingernails and toenails are then shaped and polished to finish the treatment.

During the 60-minute geranium-sage resurfacing facial, ultrasonic waves exfoliate the skin, working to minimize pores, fine lines, sun spots, and acne. At the end of the session, an aromatic enzyme mask cleanses the skin.

Painted Red Nails

"I literally lie awake in bed at night dreaming up my next theme service, or solving a skin care problem for a client. I know I am nuts, but I really love my job," Painted Red Nails owner Jessica Mahler says on her online bio. Mahler has been taking nail care very seriously since the age of 10, when she set up an informal manicure shop in her family home. She soon began competing in advanced nail-care competitions, taking home a national championship six years later. After graduating high school, she became a licensed instructor of cosmetology, and even went on to train under German podiatrist Katherine Vongavel. The certified master pedicurist also opened two Painted Red Nails locations to further fuel her all-consuming passion for nails and beauty. Her intensity has paid off—the flagship Osterville site was the winner of Cape Cod Life's 2010 Best Day Spa award.

One service that may have been a product of Mahler's late-night musings is the waterless manicure. Since she believes that warm, soapy water is not beneficial for the skin around the nail, she opts instead for a blend of moisturizing, natural oils that allow for longer-lasting polish applications. During pedicures, she makes sure to use non-greasy moisturizers that are absorbed into the skin, instead of sticking around to block sweat glands and sabotage attempts to pirouette barefoot across polished wood floors.

Mahler and her team also offer waxing, massages, makeup, and facials at the Mashpee location. Many of them are certified to perform Dr. Hauschka skincare treatments, which use lymph stimulation to create radiant, refreshed skin.

The Groupon Guide to: New Plays

Anyone who thinks live theater is a dying art hasn't experienced the magic of an actor creating an explosion on stage using only sounds from his mouth or changing into a different character using only a switch of the hat. Take a look at some of the fascinating contemporary plays coming to a theater near you:

The Sanders Family Chronicles: When the family dog dies, the Sanders family's 14 adult children must return to the small Southern town where they grew up. Getting these 14 very different people to agree on one dog's burial plot won't be easy, and you can bet secrets are going to be revealed.

Oh! To Move! or The Weather in Cincinnati Has Never Been So Clear: Don't ever say an old lady can't dance. Ever since her husband passed, Eva Marie can't stop boppin' to the beat. This 67-year-old has a new lease on life, and she's swingin' her stuff at every pub in town when she meets a stranger who loves dancing just as much as she does. This feel-good hit has critics saying "Go, Eva Marie, go!"

The Last Soldier of Queens: When a major corporation comes in and wants to turn all of Queens into a Dormart, a regular working-class man named Reginald Guy stands his ground. As Dormart razes the town to prepare for construction, Reg Guy watches his hometown transform into a postapocalyptic wasteland. It all comes to a head in a climatic showdown between Reg and his nemesis, The Bulldozer Monster.

When will you see the new play "The Last Soldier of Queens"?
