Under the watchful eye of Dr. Ronald T. Ackerman, Palm Beach Laser Center employs a noninvasive Candela laser system to remove hair from all skin types and most hair and skin tones, including tanned and dark skin. Dr. Ackerman and his staff examine the skin prior to the treatment to determine the skin type and likely treatment requirements. In each brief 5- to 20-minute session, a skilled staff member carefully wields the long-pulse laser to target hair follicles, aiming to permanently disable hair growth at the root. The system's Dynamic Cooling Device (DCD) and a cold compress made from peppermint patties help minimize patient discomfort.
