The fancy footwork of Pamela Ann School of Dance’s instructors have launched them onto stage with headliners such as the Wu-Tang Clan, B2K, and the Black Eyed Peas; earned them roles in the riveting, graceful performances of Cirque du Soleil; and landed them amid the innovative rhythmic stylings of Stomp Out Loud. Headed by Pamela Ann Schumacher, who has a degree in dancing and has taught for 20 years, the talented staff coaches students as young as 18 months or as old as a bearded sea turtle. In addition to classic forms such as ballet and jazz, the studio offers classes in hip-hop and breakdancing and brings international flavor with Irish and Bollywood dance forms. While instructors emphasize proper technique as they provide individualized attention, their main priority is to instill a passion for dancing while making sure students feel valued and have fun, welcoming those who see dance as a recreational pursuit, rather than a daily commitment like loving your mother.
