For the $1299 option, does that include both the upper and lower abdomen? How long do the results last?

Yes, the $1299 option includes both the upper and lower abdomen, just doesn't include the love handles. Results from liposuction are permanent so long as you maintain your weight. Once fat cells are removed or destroyed, your body does not regenerate more of them. That said, should you gain weight after the procedure, the fat needs to be stored somewhere, so it may accumulate in any cells that remain in the area. I will also mention that we perform VASER Liposelection, often in combination with the SmartLipo laser procedure, on the abdomen. Patients who choose this option will have a more dramatic change in body contour and a better overall result, especially if they have more than 1 inch of fat in the area. This is a $500 upgrade to the price of the SmartLipo service, the need for which can be determined at the time of your consultation.

What is the actual recovery time for an upper/lower abdoman treatment? How much is the post-operative garmet and how long do you have to wear it?

Happy Thanksgiving! These are very good questions. The recovery time for a Smartipo treatment to the abdomen is about 3-4 days. Most people choose to do their treatment around a weekend, to give them time to recover before returning to work. That said, bruising and swelling can occur and can last up to 2 weeks, so we typically don't recommend return to FULL activity - working out, etc. for 2 weeks. You will be in the post-operative garment during this time in any case. These garments are ordered through our website under the "shop" tab, feel free to look there to get an idea for pricing, but, basically, they can run anywhere from $40 - $130 depending upon the number of body areas needing to be covered. For example, if you choose to treat your thighs, in addition to your abdomen, you'll need a larger garment to cover everything. Hope that helps!
