Choose Between Two Options

  • $49 for a glass-blowing class for one (a $100 value)
  • $96 for a glass-blowing class for two (a $200 value)

Up to 20 students learn techniques for forming glass and creating colors as they create glass-blown hearts that add a touch of romance to holiday centerpieces. They also make perfect decorations and gifts for Valentine’s Day. Class dates and times may vary from week to week based on how many sign up. Students can pick up their hearts 48 hours after class. Pieces that are not picked up after 90 days become the property of the studio. For safety purposes, everyone should wear socks that cover the ankle, close-toed gym shoes, and a long- or short-sleeved cotton shirt, rather than synthetic fabrics.

Peter Patterson Glassworks

Though glass art has been Peter Patterson’s career for more than 35 years, glimpses of his other passions come through in his pieces, from his knowledge of plants to his scuba explorations of exotic seascapes. Indeed, he shapes searing-hot glass with the same fluidity as water, drawing on lessons from master teachers and his own background as an illustrator. The forms often flow around pre-fused decorations and even phosphorous elements that glow in the dark and ensure that the studio is entirely boogeyman-free. Students work one on one or in small classes as Patterson shares the first steps of creating his complex sea forms, memorial urns, and incandescent light bulbs.

The Groupon Guide to: Spicing Up a Monologue

Monologues are the most boring part of plays since they only involve a single performer and that single performer is never an adorable baby actor. To make these seemingly unending passages more interesting, follow these helpful tips:

  • Do something interesting with your voice. You could give your character an accent or, if you can't do a convincing accent, just yell the entire time.

  • Cut out all the unnecessary words, such as articles and any full sentences that don't foreshadow how the main character is a group of children hiding inside a man's suit.

  • Wear a funky hat or rad loafers. That'll give the audience something to look at!

  • Perform it with multiple people and tell the director you're going to start calling it a fun-o-logue.

  • Start at the end of the monologue and work backward. Then when you finish, tell the audience that they just got Pranked'd™. (If you're interested in buying the rights to use the name Pranked'd™, probably for a hilarious hidden-camera goof show, please contact Groupon for more information.)

Why is there so much yelling in plays? Find out in today's Groupon Guide.
