Tracy, GM of Phila Rock Gym here. Climbing is perfect for 13 year olds. We have a number of Youth Programs and a Climbing Team PRG that is appropriate for that age (and Birthday Parties!) The Intro to Climbing is training to work the ropes, called belaying and is our adult version of what we teach in our Youth Programs.
So If i have youth under 13 can they still come on this deal?
We just had a birthday for our 7 year old there and they had a great time. It was a ton of fun.
A parent(s) can learn to belay on this deal and for the price of a day pass and gear rental, the 13 year old can now climb with the parents who will work the ropes for him/her. If the child wants to take the sport further, the PRG has great after school programs and memberships.
It is best to MAKE A RESERVATION for your Intro Lesson! We have staff ready to put you on the calendar and get you climbing!
I’m bummed I missed this deal. I was going to buy it and then forgot until just after midnight. My friend and I love going to PRG but we don’t get to do it often enough so an extra lesson would’ve been nice. I hope this groupon is offered again soon.
I wish it had been clearer that Philadelphia Rock Gym is not in Philadelphia. Without a car this is going to be difficult to redeem.
