Hi it’s up to 12 treatments per area. Most people need at least 5 treatments per area, some people need more than the 5 treatments per area. By doing up to the 12 treatments per area over the course of 1 year you can expect to have 80% reduction in the area being treated.
The underarms are 1 area, larger body parts like the upper leg are considered multiple areas. The upper leg can be 2 or 3 area depending on the leg size and how much hair is in the area. Please buy multiple Groupons to cover larger areas.

If I wanted to lase my shoulders and back, how many areas would that be?

The full back on a man can be up to 5 areas, its the largest area to laser. If you have hair on the complete back, some men only have hair on the upper back, if so it can be as little as 2 areas. To be safe buy multiple Groupons. With the back we cap the shoulders so there is no need to buy an extra area.

It says the deal is for any 2 areas. Does that mean 2 areas are required? or can we just do one?
I was confused because it says the first area includes the lip, chin, underarms, outer bikini line, cheeks, and jawline, and for the second area, customers have the option of the top of the bikini line, lower arms, upper arms, upper legs, or full neck.
So I thought I had to choose one area from the “first area” and choose another area from the “second area”.

You can do 1 area, the upper lip is 1 area, the chin is 1 area, underarms are 1 area, the cheeks are 1 area. each 1 area can be treated up to 12 times in 1 year. the groupon is for any 2 areas but is not required to do 2 areas. The lip and chin would be two areas. I hope this helps, our area system is a bit confusing.

I want to thank Aeri for reading the fine print. I am thinking of purchasing two groupons for about $200, figuring that should cover four areas (and I don’t have that much hair, certainly less than a Hagrid). But as Aeri points out, that’s not necessarily what the deal is for.
Will a two groupon purchase cover those four areas? (I’ve thought about it, but I don’t really need my outer bikini line or underarms lased….)

Confused…..let me get this straight…..for $99 I can have 2 areas (example bikini line and lower legs) done up to 12 sessions. And I would pay no more money for the next time to have the areas done again or is the $99 for 1 treatment for both areas?

The $99 covers 12 Treatments PER area, so yes you can have 12 treatments on any 2 areas and pay no more than$99. Bikini line is considered 1 area, however lower legs (because thats a larger body part) is considered 3 areas. So for bikini and lower legs (4 areas) you would just need to buy 2 groupons ($198) and recieve 12 treatments on all ares. Reg price $1400. I have gone to a prominent laser hair removal place for a consultation because I wanted to get laser hair removal on my upper lip. When I was there they told me my hair was too light and they couldn’t do it. They also told me that if another place told me they could laser light hair not to believe them because they aren’t telling the truth and that they are just trying to get my money. I am concerned about this. I would like to get this done, but don’t want to waste my money if it won’t work….

We have two technologys one for dark hair one for light hair. We can treat light hair on the lip, it is more difficult but can be done, the 12 treatments for light hair will be needed. We have been treating light hairs for several years with very good results.

I have had this procedure done before and was told that I could not have treatments on tan skin. Doing so could cause permananent “markings” from the laser. Are you saying we can continue the treatments even if we have been tanning?

Question: Since the deal “expires in 1 year”, does that mean we have to have started our treatment in that year, or have all of the treatments done? So, if I were to start in September, would I only get treatments through next February?
Comment: There have been a million questions on the areas, but there is a misleading portion of the Groupon. The groupon says for your first area… and second area… however, from Michael and Diane’s descriptions here, as well as their website, it seems that it should have been the first ones count as 1 area and the second list counts as 2 areas.

I don’t work for this place, but hoepfully I can help clairfy the whole “Areas” thing.
Insead of areas they really should have said “units.” Some areas are one unit, and some are more. If your looking to do your underarms, bikini line, lip, chin, eyebrows, or back of neck, these are all one unit each.
Other areas that are larger (such as upper legs, arms, back, or chest) are more units. You’re basically getting two units per groupon to use however you like. If you want to do full legs, you need 5 units, so you need to buy 3 groupons.

how can you possibly do all of these treatments? if you can do 3 groupouns per hour and do them 12 times that is 6000 hours of treatments if you sell 1500?? if you do treatments every 4 weeks that is 2 people working 10 hours a day for 6 days a week for 4 weeks just to do the first 500 hours of treatments then you have to do that for the next 44 weeks just to fulfill this promotion. 10 hours of treatments per day 6 days a week with no breaks, I think you may have sold your way our of business

I did my math with 6 per hour on average if you can average 10 every hour its still close to 400 hours per round, or 4800 man hours with 2 lasers going 8 hours a day six days a week with no breaks sorry about being a buzz kill you are sold out for the next 48 weeks 6 days a week 8-10 hours a day

Sarah- Light Hair does struggle with the laser, but they have the tools that can see the light hair.
Cathy- Do use layer on your leg it starts at the caps of the knee and goes to the ankle

@Brian- Your calculations seem like they are based upon the expiration date. Just to clarify- customers have to start their 1st treatment by the expiration date (Feb 24, 2011) but by no means do you have to complete ALL treatments by Feb 2011. So Physician Laser Centers should not have a problem.
Is it possible to get a “front and back” Brazilian procedure done on a male? If so, how many “areas” would that involve. Without being too graphic, leaving only the hair on the lower abdomen, is the intent.
@Sarah- Try calling to discuss your hair type (I know they are swamped right now). If they cannot treat you they will refund your money!
@Coressa B- This is suitable for African American hair.

How many groupons would I have to buy if I just wanted both of my lower legs done?

If you wanted to just do lower legs you would still need 2 Groupons because 1 Groupon only covers 2 Areas.
So the best plan would be buy the 2 Groupons to get lower legs AND underarms (total of 4 areas)

With 1,825 groupons already purchased with expirations of one year, will your two locations be staffed to handle this volume of business. It makes no sense to me to buy if I can never get an appointment or they are always at really odd, inconvenient times.

there is ni way they can keep up the more they sell the worse it gets for them, as far as my math says they are already over capacity at 8-10 hours a day 6 days a week for the next 44 weeks if they can service 4 groupouns and hour per laser. this is already 5000 tp 6000 man hours of treatment if one groupoun is 15 minutes x 12 times divide 1800 by 4 (groupouns and hour) x 12 treatments is 5400 man hours.

@Brian, @Monica L.- Your calculations seem like they are based upon the expiration date. Just to clarify- customers have to start their 1st treatment by the expiration date (Feb 24, 2011) but by no means do you have to complete ALL treatments by Feb 2011. So Physician Laser Centers should not have a problem.

each 100 groupoun reflects at least 3 hours of laser time assuming you can do 4 per hour (15 minutes times 12 treatments) if you sell to 2000 you have committed to 6000 laser hours or about 2 lasers 10 hours per day 25 hours per month non stop I dont think anyone can be that effieient Also since you get half of the 100 you are selling 3 hours of laser time for $50 or 16.66 per laser hour

I am strongly considering buying several Groupons. However, considering the economy, I have to ask…. Hypothetically speaking, if I buy several Groupons and then the company goes out of business or the Phoenix location closes (you can’t reasonably expect me to drive to Payson every 3 weeks) before I’ve received my full set of treatments, will my money be refunded?
It dosent matter how man people work there it matters how many lasers you have. this is a money looser with one person you have mulitplied it by 2000 you have way oversold this, buyers beware

Yes, you can use your Groupon Deal for a Brazilian bikini. A Brazilian is considered 3 areas, so Please purchase the correct amount of the Groupon’s to cover the area’s you want treated. With this deal, you will have an area left over…so you can get another area like underarms or chin area done!

I had a consultation at another Laser Hair removal place and i was quoted around $5k, thanks to Physicians Laser Center and GROUPON im getting this done for $1200 ( i bought 12)!!! this is like a once in a lifetime opportunity.. if anyone is interested in laser hair removal now is the time to buy!! Maybe Brian should do the math on how many GROUPONS sold x price of GROUPON (over 2,000 x $99) with the money made off this GROUPON im sure they will have no problem paying overtime or hiring more people if neccessary to fullfill their obligation…

I would love to do the groupon but I am also currently trying to get pregnant. I know you can’t do the treatments when you are pregnant and this wouldn’t be an issue if it were to happen in the next month or two cause I could wait to start treatments until the end of the expiration date. However if I were to start treatments and then get pregnant a few months down the road would I just be out of luck for the remaining treatments since I’d be past the year date from when I started?
Also do you have to do it at set times like every month or could it be randomly spaced out like 4 weeks here, 6 weeks there, etc? Thanks, I know you are bombarded with loads of other questions.

sorry if I seem angry and I do own 5 laser centers. I am sure you are talented laser techs and did this with the best intentions. While its easy to sell at this price it is much harder to service it. I have 14 lasers and 5 centers and we could not do this. It may not be apparent but with 12 treatments to be performed every 4 weeks it will be impossible to perforn all the treatments you have commetted to its just simple math, yoiu will need much more capacity than the 2 lasers you have.

So sorry about the delay but the office is really busy right now. Your treatments work the best spaced one month apart. When visiting the office for a treatment, your next treatment is booked prior to leaving for the next month aprox give or take a day from your prior treatment. If you are visiting from out of town and are in the Phoenix area for even 4 months that would be 4 treatments consecutively. Depending on your skin and hair type will depend on your results with limited treatments. I accualy live out of town and have had the bulk of my treatments done while I lived there and now I do still go To PLC every time I visit for a quick treatment. The hair grows in cycles and spacing your treatments 1 month apart allows the hair follicle depending on what cycle it is in to be destroyed. Some are completely destroyed the first visit and the others are taken care of in the following visits. Results are optimal when done every month.

This is something I have wanted to do for awhile but the cost has been so prohibitive :( I can’t believe that for under $600 I will never again have to shave anything!!!! I was on the fence about this, but now that I know Brian owns a laser hair removal business, it must be a fantastic deal to make him try so hard to sabotage it. First of all, it’s UP TO 12 sessions per area, when many areas won’t need 12 sessions. Secondly, many people will probably drop the ball on getting it done (like wasted gym memberships).
p.s. Can someone answer my question above, so I know how many deals to get, please?

There is a difference on your website then the groupon for upper legs. So I just want clarification. Sorry if you have already answered this.

I just want to thank PLC so much. Ive actually had a treatment at another center and had to get my money (what amount they would) refunded, and that was at a cost of $3000 JUST FOR MY LOWER LEGS. I have been looking into another center ever since and found decent pricing, but nothing comparable to this. You’ve made this affordable to all. I bought 5 pkgs and am considering buying another couple for friends.
And thank you for extending hours and days! That being said- hell, we’re getting a great price. Sometimes that means we as consumers lose a little something else. I dont expect to get my appointments on my perfect days at my perfect times with how busy you’re going to be, but who cares? So worth it anyway.
I really hope this gets your name out to a ton of people who do further business with you after their treatments.

It is safe for minors, you would need to come in to sign the consent. I will tell you at that age it is difficult to have lasting hair removal. Young girls have high hormones which causes excelerated hair growth.

I had a total up of $297. and clicked agree/submit and went off to bed thinking I had purchased 3 groupons but when I got my email back from you it was only for one so I think something went wrong. I thought maybe I didn’t change the number of groupons before submitting but then I distinctly remember the total amount was almost $ 300. Very strange how that could happen. Has anyone else written that this occurred? Therefore I have the one but it doesn’t do me much good since it doesn’t cover the full legs underarms which is what I intended. I was going to do these and drive with my daughter who also purchased them but her order was correct. I live in Tucson so this is a long way for me to drive. 5 hrs of driving for each treatment. :(

Went for my first treatment this week and realized “you get what you pay for” :( I was pretty disappointed with several things, but at least I can be glad I did not pay anywhere near full price.
Well I sorry to hear your Disapointed Bethany P., however like Amber I went for my first treatment with great success. Everyone was real friendly and helpful. & I’m seeing great results already. I suppose it just doesn’t work that well on some people, hate your genetics and not the product!
Christopher, it has nothing to do with my genetics but entirely with the experience. It has been too soon for me to even see any results yet. My next treatment won’t even be for 8 weeks because they are so busy. I asked on the phone when I scheduled my first appointment if I should go ahead and schedule future ones. I was told no, there would be no problem scheduling the next one when I came in. So much for that.
I walked out feeling very guilty for contributing to a woman working 72 hours a week. And also for requesting a service that hurts her back so much that she was complaining about it while I was waiting for my appointment.
I asked since I had purchased the full leg if she could do my big toes (which would take about 10 extra seconds.) My question was essentially ignored.
I paid for the brazilian which according to the website includes front and back but she only did the front. Whenever I have done a brazilian wax it meant there was absolutely no hair left anywhere down there. Going to be weird to have hair in the back but not the front.
In the ad and even in this discussion it was stated that they had 2 different kinds of lasers and that one could treat lighter hair. As a result I bought an extra groupon to do my lip and chin. I was told when I got there that they could only treat darker hair and that it probably wouldn’t work on the lighter stuff.
Again, I am glad I did not pay full price. I will see how well all this goes (which looks like it might take a couple years to get in all 12 treatments if needed). I may just have to go elsewhere to do my big toes and the back of the brazilian.
i just went in today too!!! the website makes a point to say that they have the technology to remove blonde hair!!! that is the only reason i purchased 2 groupons. whe i goth there they told me they couldn’t. end of story. they need to change their website….very misleading.
Bethany, my experience was a good one for me. Great answers to my questions and I had a ton. I was also very nervous. Who enjoys being as undressed as a brazilian requires infront of someone you met like 5 minutes ago? I had SO never done laser anything before. I specifically asked when I made my appointment if for any reason they could not provide the service (my hair color, medical condition, they over-sold, lack of available female techs, whatever) what would happen and was assured FULL MONEY BACK. If I don’t get lasered then I don’t pay. I bought a Groupon for pretty much everything I could ever want (at this price—Hey, why not) and I asked a ton of questions. I insisted on a female tech and she did amazing. She asked me several times if it was too hot and I was ok. I also insisted on scheduling out as far as they could because I have to drive pretty far (but again, at this price Why not go for it). My suggestion is call, ask, and ask again. You deserve the same good service every other paying customer is getting. If you feel ignored when the laser tech is tired, sore, distracted, or just not giving you what you need then remind her, ask for the manager, or maybe call Groupon and ask for a mediator to help you out. Why pay to go some place else if you already paid for it? Sometimes just speaking up makes all the difference in the world—give them a chance to do right by you

HIPPA prevents PLC from talking about any one patients issues. What I can tell you is not every patient can have every laser. We do have several Hair removal lasers. because of handpiece size we cannot use on every body part. Also blonde hair on the lip and chin are the most difficult to treat regardless of technology. We will sometimes recomend not treating the area. This is to save money for patients not to make anyone feel cheated or deceived.
PLC has tried our best to deal with each patients problems, no matter how hard we try we cannot please everyone. I would ask you to speak to me when you come for your next treatment.

I can see that using Groupon has overloaded this business. I would suggest making appts. all at once when you call as it’s taking me about 2 months to even get in which leaves me about half a year to get all my treatments completed. The first questioned asked of me, in a frustrated tone, was “is this a groupon?”. What does it matter? Other than you are going to give me a lesser priority? This is one Groupon I regret purchasing as I can already see it’s going to be an exercise in frustration dealing with this business.

We are not overloaded, I will say that we have done our best to get all of the groupons booked and treated in a timely manor. You have one year from the time you redeam your groupon to complete your treatments. When we ask you if you have a groupon this is so we can get you in quickly based on your schedule. I believe you should contact groupon customer service and ask for a refund. This was a deal put out to help the general public to be able to afford cosmetic treatments in a time when people have very little money to spend. Sorry that you are not pleased, it is impossible for PLC as a business to please everyone. 99% of the groupon clients have been very pleased. Do you think that a 7 week wait time for a “10 to 15 min appointment” is a “timely manner”? When there is an expiration date on the use for the prepaid appointment? Your posts above indicate you were needing to add weekend and evening hours to accomodate the influx of these new patients. I was not offered a weekend or evening appointment when I called.
I wouldn’t mind a 2 month wait to get an appointment if I didn’t have a time limit during which to complete the treatments and a certain number of weeks I have to wait between them (obviously limiting the number of treatments I would be able to receive before the groupon expires). Because of this wait time I would only be able to receive at the most 7-8 appointments yet the Groupon is “up to 12” indicated for hair removal.
The person setting the appointment seemed VERY exasperated on the phone with a deep sigh and frustrated tone “First off is this a Groupon?”.
Thank you for the instruction to request a refund. “I believe you should contact groupon customer service and ask for a refund.” This is exactly what I intend to do indicating the business owner suggested I receive a refund.
Update: Groupon is offering me a full refund for this deal and agreed this business, if they offer such lengthy wait times given the restrictions of their treatment regime should have extended the expiration date (this was not to accomodate MY schedule, the first appt. I was offered was the 3rd week in July and I called on June 1. I was offered this lengthy wait time after ascertaining I was using a Groupon).
By the way, a local restaurant in town this week realized their Groupon deals were expiring on Memorial Day so I was like “oh well I should have gotten in sooner” and decided to be more diligent about following my exp. dates. But lo and behold, they offered another week to complete them as they realized no one could get in on the last day (they put that on their Facebook with certainly no request from me). So I got to use it, and spend twice as much as the Groupon so it was a win/win situation!

Time limits do not start untill you come in for your first treatment. Hopefully you can find a laser clinic that works for you. By the way your expiration was Feb 2011, then you have 1 year from that date to complete the 5 to 7 treatments needed to get rid of hair. Thats 2 years sorry that did not work for you. Good luck

I just did my first treatment today and could not have been more impressed. I arrived 15 minutes early to do paperwork, and was called back 10 minutes before the start of my appointment. The technician was very kind. The procedure painless. And, I was able to get today’s appointment TODAY due to a cancellation. And I left the center 5 minutes after the scheduled start time of my appointment.

I just made my first appointment and they were super nice. I was kind of nervous before, but she answered all my questions and just really put me at ease. I’m so excited!
The laser technicians are good, but some of the desk staff are downright rude. Someone who answers the phone named Diane is very unprofessional and just mean!
Is anyone getting evening or weekend appointments? Joanna L in response to Summers question said that they would be adding some evening and some Saturday hours, but I have not been able to get an appointment for either. I was told to call back and see if anything comes available (cancelations happen, things change, whatever). I get that, but I’ve been calling back for a while and if my luck does not change I worry my year will slip by without being able to use the 4 Groupons I bought. Am I the only one stuck having to take the day off or hire a sitter to use this great deal? I also wonder why no offer was made to make an appointment ANY appointment even months away, just to get something on the books.

Do your laser techs clean/sanitize the lasers after every use? Your office is run similar to a doctor’s office, but I’ve never seen the lasers be cleaned and I know they touch the genital area for brazilian services. That could definitely spread STDs. Please respond ASAP.

I called to make my first appointment and they said the 12 treatments have to be done in one year. Where does it say this on the groupon? I live in another state 3-4 months a year. Please show me or was I misled?
I am so dissatisfied with this company. No where on the Groupon does it say that the treatments have to be completed within a year, yet Joanne insisted that the Groupon read that one would receive “up to 12 treatments” and insisted that if I even received 6 at this price, that I should be greatful.
I just had my first treatment last week. I loved the staff, but was also dissatisfied with the 12 treatments. My Groupon CLEARLY says 12 treatments and nothing says expires 12 months later. They said optimal time to come in is every 5 weeks, so that would only be 10 treatments possible!
As with the other 3 comments above me, I am also completely confused. I just called to make my 8th or 9th appointment and they told me this was my last apt that I could make because “my year was up.” No where on the groupon does it say we have to use up the 12 treatments within a year once starting. Please advise …
Also, in response to others comments … I 00% agree in that the office staff are very rude. Both Diane (?) and Joanna (?) are extremely rude and unprofessional. It seems as though they are very unwelcoming to Groupon customers …
I am disappointed with Physician Lasers. I forgot to use my Groupon on time – which I know, is my fault – but I called to see if they would at least honor it at face value if I purchased other services (the $99 I actually spent) and they still said no. I don’t think that is good business at all. It doesn’t seem fair they received $99 to do nothing at all. If I cared about building and keeping customers I would have at least allowed them the $99 credit since they received it for nothing.
Looks like I’m not the only one having issues with them now saying it’s only 1 year. Nothing I have says this. I just emailed asking about it. If I was told 6 weeks apart, it’s impossible for 12 treatments to be given. As far as the “up to 12 treatments”, this is what the groupon states “Each chosen region is privy to as many sessions as it takes to fully eradicate hair for up to 12 treatments.” So unless hair is gone before the 12 treatments than yes, you should still get the 12 treatments.
How many treatments do areas usually take?
Is it 12 treatments for both areas? or up to 12 treatments PER area?
For example, I would want to get my underarms done for the first area…and the upper leg for the second area…
