Pinhook Plantation House

Since its construction in 1810, Pinhook Plantation House has served many functions. It’s been a family home, an inn for farmers selling their livestock and crops, and a lookout point for Civil War soldiers along the Hiwassee River. Today, it serves as a bed and breakfast set in the rolling hills of southeastern Tennessee.

Despite a 2001 renovation, many of the home’s original features remain intact, including its heart-pine floors, fireplaces constructed of handmade bricks, and new-home smell. Three suites are decorated with hand-sewn quilts, antiques, and lace curtains that open to reveal stunning views of the foothills and Hiwassee River and close to reveal darkness. During their stay, guests can kayak or fly-fish on the river, hike through the Cherokee National Forest, or head into Chattanooga, which is just an hour away.
