Held at a speakeasy-style space in Midtown, dinner includes a seafood-centric first and second course, followed by a choice or mille crepes cakes or lavender and lychee rice pudding. Included wine or sake pairings bring out the briny and sweet flavors in each dish.

The chefs are meticulous in sourcing their seafood—much of it is plucked from the waters off Long Island, including Blue Point oysters harvested by the same family for more than a century and littleneck clams. Hard-to-find North Atlantic albacore tuna is always line-caught, and fresh sweetwater shrimp come from North Carolina’s Pamlico Sound. The accompanying vegetables come from local farms, and the pasta is Pockets Full of Dough’s own handmade tortellini. Customers should call for available seatings.

Pockets Full of Dough

Pockets Full of Dough takes inspiration from the culturally and biologically diverse nation of Montenegro, where Turkish, Roman, and Greek influences waft from the kitchens of cheese makers, fisherfolk, and farmers. Specializing in seafood, pasta, and baked goods, the multitalented foodies sling their wares at various fairs and bazaars throughout the year. But they’re not just food vendors—their catering services bring the company’s uniquely colorful pastas and pastries to group events and grudge-match food fights. Supper-club dinners pop up in unexpected spaces, and pasta-making classes help kids with autism-spectrum disorders pick up socialization and sensory-integration skills by sinking their hands into brightly colored dough.
