Go-karts allow people to experience the thrill of driving without having to hear radio ads for pungent soaps or look at four empty seats that remind them of the time someone stole their family of mannequins. Keep thrills pure with today's Groupon: for $29, you get a go-kart racing package for one driver at Pole Position Raceway in Jersey City (up to a $60 value). The package includes:

  • Two Arrive & Drive passes for the 15-lap standard format (a $50 value).
  • Two temporary licenses ($5/license, up to a $10 value). Temporary licenses are valid for one week.

Arrive & Drive passes can be used any day of the week, though reservations are required for Saturday race times.

Speedsters strap themselves into Formula EK20 karts in Pole Position Raceway's state-of-the art facility, which boasts a quarter-mile road course for competitive indoor racing. Crank speedometers up during Arrive & Drive races in karts equipped with 18-horsepower electric motors, which, unlike their gas-powered counterparts, emit no exhaust fumes, allow for rapid acceleration, and plant a tree after each finish. Up to 10 racers at a time zip around the facility’s tracks, including the Super G Track (open only on select Mondays)—one of the longest courses in the United States, challenging intuitive handling skills with sharp turns and seducing lead feet with open straightaways. At the end of each race, a leaderboard ranks drivers on lap times and the neatness of their tread-mark handwriting. Youngsters who can reach a height of at least 48 inches without the use of stilts may climb into Formula EK10 karts, which reach speeds of up to 25 miles per hour.
