  • $89 for a wine-education class for two and two bottles of wine (a $160 value)

Each two-hour introductory wine class (a $50 value per person) may explore a variety of topics, including basic viticulture, tasting the differences between wines, or wine pairings for different types of cuisine. Premier Cru Wine Merchants

Michael Eigen is on a mission to simplify the world of wine for others. As the owner of Premier Cru Wine Merchants, he wields a Certificate of Wine Studies from the Wine and Spirits Education Trust, and draws from experience tasting thousands of wines to help customers choose the bottle best suited to any occasion. He and his wine-sales manager Carla Aurich help visitors navigate the boutique store, where shelves boast wines and spirits from around the world—including rare and little-known varietals and vintages. The pair also curates selections of wines suited to specific holidays, from romantic reds for Valentine's Day to featureless, unlabeled bottles for the anniversary of the founding of the witness-protection program.

“Really enjoyed our evening - the owner (our host for the evening) was very knowledgeable, but managed to make the "class" feel like a fun evening with friends, as opposed to overly instructive. Will definitely be back for recommendations and perhaps additional wine tasting courses!”
