Rotating exhibits include the current showcase honoring Chris LeDoux, telling the story of this singer, songwriter, and bronc rider with photographs, artwork, and records. Children 5 and younger receive free admission.

ProRodeo Hall of Fame and Museum of the American Cowboy

To some, the West was a wasteland. To others, including legendary showman and cowboy Buffalo Bill Cody, it held a poetic, almost esoteric power with its "strong characters, its stern battles, and its tremendous stretches of loneliness." Although the face of the West has changed tremendously since the great westward sprawl, the legend of the cowboy lives on in the ProRodeo Hall of Fame and Museum of the American Cowboy. Among its halls, the story of this cultural mainstay explodes, relaying the dangers of the rodeo and its lasting impact on Western American culture through exhibits that teem with history and rare artifacts.

The expansive Hall of Champions honors rodeo's famous cowboys, clowns, and announcers, including funnyman Jon "Chipmunk" Taylor and Frank Schneider, an award-winning rider who set a world record in 1932 for steer decorating. Among the attire and equipment of these respected individuals, sculptures of harrowing rodeo events explore the sport's history. The Heritage Hall, meanwhile, tells a different tale. Here, an exploration of design changes in saddles, hats, chaps, and other equipment across the decades documents the sport's evolution. In honor of those who made the ProRodeo Hall of Fame possible, the memorial Founders Hall swells with cast-iron busts decked out in high-crowned cowboy hats, crisp collars, and hopelessly stiff ropes, introducing guests to the notable individuals and organizations who helped bring this museum to fruition.

Yet, the ProRodeo Hall of Fame and Museum of the American Cowboy does more than tell the story of events past. During warmer months, guests can wander to the outdoor garden exhibit's Priefert Arena to take part in team roping events, Wild West shows, and convention rodeos. The gift shop helps guests live their cowboy dreams and look their best when meeting a rival under the high-noon sun by offering rodeo souvenirs and Western clothing.

The Groupon Guide to: a Pretty Flower

Once in a great while, a fleeting glimpse of natural color may catch your eye, and you will become lost in the simple wonder of gazing at a pretty flower. Here is how to do so correctly:

  • Look at the flower. It is beautiful.

  • You may be tempted to pick the flower. Do not—simply let it be.

  • Lean in and smell the flower. If you are allergic to flowers you may wish to skip this step or, instead, you can just use a flexible twig to first prod the folds of the flower gently to ensure that it is free of honeybees, which may sting or startle.

  • Again, you may become tempted to pick the flower, justifying the floracide by picturing the flower adorning your sweetheart’s hair or lapel. Continue to resist. If your honeybunch is the sort to manipulate you into murdering flowers so they can cultivate an anachronistic aesthetic, you’re better off just spending the rest of the day staring at this flower while their coffee goes cold waiting for you at the coffee shop.

  • Keep them waiting. Your mother was right about them. Just like this guide is right about flowers.

What is the most beautiful flower? The answer may make you angry.
