Psychodynamic Yoga

Although yoga is known to incite a wide range of emotional states in its practitioners, traditional classes don't typically encourage students to express these thoughts. However, registered yoga instructor Akiva Daube has set out to provide an emotional outlet for his students during their mind-body practice, drawing from his education in psychoanalysis. He strives to help them overcome any physical, emotional, and spiritual issues with a combination of yoga's healing physical postures and talk therapy. While he guides students in strengthening their muscles and increasing their flexibility, they are encouraged to express feelings as emotions come, which may help reduce stress, anxiety, and depression. The classes are led in small groups at the studio or in one-on-one sessions at a location of the client's choice, such as in the comfort of their own home or at a calming lullaby factory.
