Quattro Gastronomia Italiana

Twin chefs Nicola and Fabrizio Carro have always done everything together. They were born together, grew up together in Alessandria, Italy, learned to cook together, and even grew identical mustaches to suit their identical faces. Most recently, they came to America together to become the joint culinary talents behind Miami Beach's Quattro Gastronomia Italiana. Along with their Northern Italian recipes, they also bring a dedication to quality cuisine—they even import many of their ingredients straight from their homeland.

With a wine list as comprehensive as the menu, the restaurant offers bottles that represent each of Italy's unique varietals and 20 wine-growing regions. As dinners of seafood-rich risotto or veal wraps stretch into the evening, it's hard not to pause and take in the rich Milanese-style decor in tones of warm browns, golds, and deep greens. A large, Calacatta marble bar trimmed with Makassar ebony is not only the room's grand focal point, but is also reportedly the very spot where the "Marco Polo walks into a bar" joke originated.
