Questions and Answers

Laurie- That would be me!
Our main focus right now is Denver. We are slowly but surely working on expanding to Boulder soon. I am very well aware of Boulder as I graduated from CU. GO BUFFS. the problem right now is that there aren’t that many subscribers in Boulder so it makes it hard to put up a deal when there aren’t people following!
I would suggest to round up your friends and family in Boulder and sign up to get this going.

Will the Groupon be exchanged for a Punch Card or something? Most Groupons are to be used in 1 visit – so how will they keep track of the 5 uses of this Groupon?

Jonathan, you are correct. You will exchange for the 5 uses!

a great deal if you ask me. it is so nice to have a clean car as part of your outfit for the day.

Mary, I agree!
This is a great carwash and i know vacs are free to use when washing.
Megan,
I think if you put up deals for Boulder, they will come! Word of mouth, facebook, etc the subscribers will come. I’d also love to see deals in the North Metro suburbs (Broomfield, Westminster, Thornton, Louisville, Lafayette, Superior, etc.), do you have any plans of expanding into these burbs?
Thanks!
Jaclyn,
Thanks for the comments! We are for sure working to extend into those areas in the future. We have run some deals in Boulder (Rush Smoothie and Spot Bouldering for example) as well as multiple deals in Broomfield and Westminster in the past 9 months. However they didn’t get the response we expected like the Denver deals did because of the number of subscribers.
However, we are working on growing those areas (as well as Fort Collins and Colorado Springs), and hope to be there sooner than later. We are here for our subscribers and vendors and do everything we can to make you guys happy with the offers!
We love the feedback from our subscribers and it helps us make headway to get those cities and locations up on Groupon! I can promise you it will happen sooner than later, and it will be awesome deals just like the Denver ones!
Please keep sending us your feedback and suggest businesses and we will keep working hard to make it happen!
Thanks!

P.S Like Megan, my family is in the suburbs and in Boulder, so we know what great areas those are and want to get you guys some deals! :)

I have to chime in here… I have meaning to share the Boulder feedback as well. I live in Louisville, work in Arvada. There was one deal in Arvada I took advantage of (YAY) and I have referred a tons of friends, more of whom would have actually joined if there were some more deals more north. I know two of my referrals joined because I sent them the Arvada pizza deal. I don’t want to drive to Aurora or Parker for most of these Groupons.
Back on topic for a minute . . . my car is filthy right now and I live in Parker so I bought this Groupon — and found out that it can’t be used today! Lame. So I printed out the coupon (after having to check off a box that I wouldn’t use it today) and it says “Redeemable after: Mar 13, 2010 at 12AM.”
My question: when is 12AM? Midnight or noon? Sources on the internet say it can be either one but most agree that it’s midnight. They also say that due to this confusion the terms 12AM and 12PM should NEVER be used!
I want to wash my car in the morning; I have to be 50 miles away by noon. If all Groupons have these kind of inane restrictions and vague conditions I will cancel and get my money back. Please advise.
Thanks Katy! I wonder if the ten20 nail spa in Boulder would have success like the Sweet Life nail bar did a couple of days ago. Not sure if you’ve reached out to them already. Do you prospect business strictly by cold calling? If so, have you considered direct mail or email for lead generation? Sorry, that’s the marketer in me asking.
Follow up:
Here is an explanation from a definitive source, the government’s NIST.GOV site (National Institute of Standards and Technology):
“Are noon and midnight 12 a.m. or 12 p.m.?
This is a tricky question. The answer is that the terms 12 a.m. and 12 p.m. are WRONG and should not be used.
To illustrate this, consider that “a.m” and “p.m.” are abbreviations for “ante meridiem” and “post meridiem.” They mean “before noon” and “after noon,” respectively. Noon is neither before or after noon; it is simply noon. Therefore, neither the “a.m.” nor “p.m.” designation is correct."
So a.m. means “before noon”, and thus the coupon says “Redeemable after Mar 13, 2010 at 12 before noon”. Not TOO confusing, huh?
I need to know when I can use my Groupon, please.
You are an adult and you don’t know the difference between 12am and 12pm? You shouldn’t need to look that up on the internet. 12am is always midnight and 12pm is always noon.
Yes David, I’m an adult and therefore I don’t insult others on the internet like you do. But the problem is not my understanding of the term, it’s THEIR understanding of it. I don’t have time to drive over there only to find out that they won’t honor their coupon until the afternoon.
Can the Groupon be used between two vehicles or is it limited to one specifric vehicle?
The Groupon says it expires 7/30. Does that mean that what is purchased (in my case 10 washes at $60) has to be used by that date? I hope not, and if not, what is the expiration date referring to? Thanks in advance.
Larry,
Yes, you can use the Groupon tomorrow. We have it set up this way because we like to give our vendors time to answer questions/phone calls and get their lists together for all the new customers that will be coming in. Their feature day is crazy enough, so that is why all of our Groupons are not good until the next day giving them a little breathing room.
So yes, you can take your car in to the carwash tomorrow morning.
Thanks!
Katy @ Groupon
Larry,
Our deals run like clockwork everyday, beginning at 12 AM and ending 24 hours later at 11:59 PM, with the next deal launching at 12 AM. This is why it says you can use your coupon on March 13th, 2010 at 12 AM…it has been 24 hours since the deal has launched.
Thanks,
Katy @ Groupon
Tim,
You just have to exchange your Groupon Coupon for the 5 Wash Punch Card by 7/30, but you can use the washes beyond that date.
Hugo,
Yes, you can use your punch card for different vehicles.
Thanks!
Katy @ Groupon
Thank you Katy! I’ll be there in the morning ready to check it out; hopefully it’s a great service and my car comes out cleaner than what I could do myself. Have a great weekend!
I just want to jump in on the “expansion” topic. I live in Ft. Collins and recently discovered Groupon. I haven’t bought anything yet, because I haven’t seen anything that makes me excited enough to drive to Denver, BUT I’m keeping my eyes open! I and lots of my friends would LOVE if you could expand up here! Keep up the great work!
can someone use this groupon at the richies in ft. collins?
My comment is in general, not specific to this deal. When we purchase a deal for say $10 for a $20 value, especially on food; does the vendor receive a portion of that $10 or do you all keep it for advertising for them, etc.?
I have washed dozens of times at Richies Express Carwash and the experience is first class. The quality of the wash is superior for an exterior-only carwash. It only takes 4 minutes and you stay in your car, or you can use the free vacs if needed.
You get a 5-wash coupon book at Richies Express Carwash and use a coupon each time you wash with no expiration date. On your last wash, you can repurchase a new book at a discount over buying individual washes. You will be impressed with how clean and dry your vehicle is in such a short time.

having a clean car says the most about me when i go out on a business call. it arrives before i even set foot on the pavement to make an impression. so this groupon is a real deal especially since they are offering future discounts as well. got into the habit of keeping my car clean a few years back. more important that the clothes i wear.

Mary- Sorry but this voucher may not be used at the Ft. Collins locations. The pricing is different at the Ft. Collins location than the Parker location.

Hey Larry O.-
I live in Parker and we use this car wash a lot as we live on dirt roads. My car also gets brake dust all over the wheels and the wheel brightener works great and gets it all off. I was a skeptic on payed automatic washes until this place. The normal Before 9am cost is $5 for a basic wash and that works very good too if a person can stop on way to work in morning. $6 for a works wash is indeed a good deal !! Enjoy

This is a general comment—not about today’s deal specifically. Deals seem to be geographically concentrated in Parker/Highlands Ranch/Park Meadows… Whoever sells these deals needs to expand their range. Boulder should be a pretty good region to concentrate on.
