Hi Erik..the half day starts 5.5 miles upstream from headquarters on private property (Rio Lindo). The full day starts 16 miles upstream from headquarters at Alexander Valley Campground. You have the option of paddling 11 or 16 on the full day trip. We shuttle you up river at the beginning of your day...and both trips end at headquarters where you started and where you car is...except if you opt out at 11 miles on the full day...then we shuttle 10 minutes down river back to headquarters. The full day is more challenging then the half day...and not for beginners. On the half day trip...you can take your time and turn it into a full day. We look forward to seeing you... Lollie

...actually...it could be good for up to 4. Two adults and two children will fit as long as you don't exceed 550lbs combined (equivlent of 3 average size adults). There is no charge for extra riders in the canoe. There are only two seats for the paddlers...and the riders sit on the floor of the canoe.... you can bring a short sand chair, folded towel...cushion...etc. We can also loan extra life jacket to sit on. Hello...no extra charge for the fourth person. Better all four in one canoe....for it takes two adults (or a teen) to manage the boat. Each adult in the two seats...and our friendly staff will help you with some basic paddling instruction before you launch. Check out the river flow video on the homepage of our website...it will give you a good idea of the type of water you will be paddling in and help you gage your comfort level. Hi Carrie...the trips are non guided, however, we help outfit you and give you enough instruction (if needed) to help make your day fun and safe. Then you are off on your own...to paddle at your liesure and explore. We look forward to getting you out on the river. Lollie

Hi Virginia....we actually provide a shuttle at the beginning of your trip up to the launch site...and you end at your car where you started. This way you can paddle at your own leisure and on your own time. The half day is about a 3 hour paddle at a relaxed pace...but most of our clients make a day of it....picnicking and swimming on their way down. We look forward to seeing you. We have many shuttle vans and buses and they run about every 15 minutes. Lollie

Hi Kyle…. We are a large operation…just be sure to book in advance. June, July, Aug…a week or more. A week in advance is usually good….some non peak weekends as well as peak can fill up. No breaking white water rapids…but enough current in a few places to flip some clients. Check out the video on our homepage….it will give you a good idea of the type of current you will be paddling in. We will help you pack to keep your things dry…the half day is not very threatening…but people do flip sometimes. It is not a big deal to flip if you stay calm...most flips happen in the more shallow sections. This section is a mix of some flat water, mild current, overhanging trees, turns, gravel bars….etc. We look forward to getting you outdoors….Lollie

Hello James. The black out days are Memorial Weekend, July 4th Weekend, and Labor Day Weekend. The Groupon expires October 15, 2012. We suggest booking two weeks in advance as we usually sell out on weekends.
