If humans are mostly made of water, and fish traditionally inhabit water, fish should naturally occur in the human body. Fix this gap in nature’s logic with today’s Groupon: for $12 you get $25 worth of sushi, hibachi, and fusion fare at Robata of Tokyo.

At Robata of Tokyo, the hibachi grill's flames bathe the dining room in a warm glow as they lick a menu of chicken, steak and seafood specialties. Calamari ($18) or filet mignon ($24) leap through the ring of fire and land atop a bed of fried rice and grilled vegetables. Patrons can perch at the sushi bar and pause from chopstick drum solos to cheer on owner and sushi chef Mr. Shindo as he girds dozens of sushi delicacies with a seaweed belt. Classic morsels include the tuna ($2.85) and california ($4.50) rolls, as well as more complex bundles of salmon, massago, and black caviar ($10.25). In between bites, diners gaze at minimalist, geometric designs punctuated by traditional Japanese murals and jealous cats peering from in between sliding screens.

Robata of Tokyo

Traditional Japanese culture dictates that the hearth of the house is the heart of the house—a common space where family and friends broke bread together. The robata restaurant takes that concept further, typically by making a fiery grill the centerpiece of the dining room. Mr. and Mrs. Shindo, the owners of Robata of Tokyo, aim to capture a familial, welcoming atmosphere, where you can sample a wide range of Japanese cuisine spanning sushi, tempura, and hibachi grilling.

Cooking is theatre at Robata: take a seat at the sushi bar to watch the chef prepare both traditional and unique sushi rolls. The Halloween roll features salmon, avocado, and masago. You can also watch as chefs at the hibachi grill slice and dice meat and veggies and serve it directly to patrons. A full bar is on hand, too, serving sake and beer.
