Absolutely not! We here at Rugged Maniac know that women love being active just as much as men, so we don't advertise exclusively to men with ads featuring bikini-clad women like some other races. That's why enjoy more women runners than men at our events (55% female - 45% male)! But don't get the wrong idea. Our courses are consistently rated as the toughest in the country, so our high female participation rates just go to show than women love a good challenge!

After purchasing this groupon, we are able to just go to the website and sign up for the race with no additional fees? Also, how does the obstacles work if they become too difficult for someone?

That's correct. You'll register at www.ruggedmaniac.com using your Groupon voucher and you won't be responsible for any further costs (unless you choose to add on extra options, like a camera rental or electronic chip timing. Runners can skip any obstacles they don't want to complete and should assess each obstacle as they approach to determine if they can successfully complete it without injuring themselves or others around them. Skipping obstacles disqualifies you from winning a time-based award.

Unfortunatley, this isn't an issue we can solve here at Rugged Maniac. Please contact Groupon directly since they're the ones who create the vouchers and email them to Groupon purchasers.

If we use the groupon, are we still allowed to use the discounts mentioned on the website? Or would we just register as a regular racer?

You can only use one discount at a time. When you register for the race at www.ruggedmaniac.com with your Groupon voucher, you won't be charged anything since you've already paid your entry fee to Groupon.
