Russell Alba has worked with carpets for decades, transitioning an apprenticeship as a carpet layer when he was a teenager into ownership of his own carpet cleaning business. He now employs three two-man crews, which travel in a fleet of cleaning trucks equipped with steam extraction systems. These crews visit homes, where the truck-mounted equipment purges carpets of stains from Kool-Aid, popsicles, or crayons fresh out of the blender. The same gear purifies tile and grout as well as upholstery, and the crew is also adept at vacuuming air ducts and repairing carpets.
