Since 1997, Sacred Fools Theater has staged an ongoing run of inventive, irreverent, and experimental productions. The Coarse Acting Show (November 16–December 15) adopts Michael Green’s purposely terrible dramatic style for a series of so-bad-they’re-good short plays, which the company claims will feature actors acting. In the darkly comic Absolutely Filthy (opens January 25, 2013,) a homeless man living in a perpetual cloud of dust and grime suddenly finds his life even more difficult to bear when he stumbles upon the funeral of his long-estranged best friend, and finds he just may have a shot at redemption. Adapted from the Novel by Neil Gaiman, Neverwhere (opens April 5, 2013) follows a man drawn into a nightmare shadow world beneath the city of London. Journey to London Below in this West Coast premiere, with a roguish gallery of liars, outcasts and assassins on a treacherous voyage to awaken the hero within.
