Choose Between Two Options

After cozying into a safari truck outfitted with a canvas top and stadium seating, up to 40 riders are taken on a tour of the 260-acre game reserve. Here, large herds of African animals, such as springboks, water buffalos, and elands roam the sprawling grounds. Experienced tour guides narrate the journey, pointing out a variety of endangered species as well as giving guests the go-ahead to feed the not-so-shy animals that wander up to the truck.

After the safari, you can head to the lemur habitat, where the resident ring-tailed lemurs will line up to carefully take grapes from your hand.

Next, you can see more animals at the petting zoo and aviary or recline under a shaded canopy while enjoying the ranch's views, which echo those of an African landscape.

Safari Wilderness Ranch

Safari Wilderness Ranch's exotic wetland animals freely roam 260 acres of grassy plains, girded by an 850-square-mile watershed. Accredited by the Zoological Association of America and licensed by the USDA, the ranch is an agritourism project dedicated to teaching about endangered species through hands-on safaris. Wandering zebra and watusi-cattle herds coexist harmoniously with waterbuck and lost cable guys as explorers ride by on trucks, horse-drawn carts, and camels. An outdoor aviary flutters with nearly 100 colorful, playful budgie parakeets who will munch millet seeds from the palm of a hand, and a lemur habitat allows guests to feed the ring-tailed primates grapes.
