- $99 for an All About the Pig interactive cooking workshop for two (a $220 value)
All About the Pig is a three-hour hands-on workshop where students learn from a Le Cordon Bleu–trained chef how to prepare delicious pork dishes. Chefs-in-training are immediately greeted with jambalaya, whose piquant spices can warm the belly on a cold winter night. Then, the chef shows students how to prepare pork three ways, imparting easy at-home methods for stuffing your own sausage, curing bacon, and braising pork shoulder with a glaze of beurre manie. For a sweet finish, students practice flambé techniques while using winter citrus fruits to prepare a traditional crepe suzette. Register for a class here. Beer pairing options are available for an additional fee.
Saga Hill Cooking & Events
When she’s not hosting radio shows, serving meals at local shelters, or blogging for Minneapolis St. Paul magazine's Foodie File, Le Cordon Bleu–trained chef Marianne Miller helms Saga Hill Cooking & Events. She describes her style as "audacious, yet feminine," adding, "my preparations are often bold, but with a light-handed approach that brings out the natural flavors in each dish." Alongside her staff, she leads culinary classes and parties that shy from incorporating fad kitchen gadgets or diets. Instead, their goal is to teach practical, science-based cooking techniques that can help students prepare simple meals, gourmet treats, or decadent brown-bag lunches.
