Ever since our ancestors crawled out of the ocean and immediately hollowed out a kayak from driftwood, man has longed to reunite with the sea. Today’s Groupon gives you the chance to commune with the watery elements: $10 gets you $20 worth of rentals or lessons in kayaking, windsurfing, or paddle surfing at Sailboards Miami.
Located on the entrance of Key Biscayne, Sailboards Miami launches you off into beautiful views of Biscayne Bay, Coconut Grove, and downtown Miami, while giving you a well-deserved break from your day job as a private detective who tracks down rogue private detectives. Use your Groupon toward lessons or rentals. Sailboards Miami offers windsurfing lessons, which start at $35 for a single private lesson (equipment rental included for beginning and intermediate lessons); the staff can teach anyone to windsurf in two hours. There are also two-hour group beginners' lessons ($69). For a more relaxing sail, rent a kayak ($15 an hour for singles and $20 an hour for doubles) with a friend; or pretend you took a time machine to ancient Polynesia and test out stand-up paddle surfing ($30 for an hour).
Your Groupon is also good for 10% off any merchandise in the shop. Stock up on lycras, sunscreen, towels, and all the watersport accessories you need for your new hobby.
Note: Windsurfing Miami is open Friday through Tuesday.
Sailboards Miami customers say the ocean provides fun for all ages:
- My family is not alone in the fact that we come back every year to visit...Sailboards Miami to get in our dose of windsurfing and kayaking fun and freedom. It’s one of the highlights of our family time together. – Robyn Accetturo
The trio of reviews on Yelp give Sailboards Miami 4.5 stars:
- …to date my best experience is leaving my office early... sail for an hour or so...and chill while I watch the traffic build up in rush hour. This is way cheaper than any therapy in the world and you get the best view of Miami from the Bay and powered by nothing by wind and a bit of muscle. – Gustavo A. L.
- Learn to windsurf, rent a kayak and have a great time exploring Key Biscayne. Fun way to discover the backside of Vizcaya Mansion. – Katherine M.
