When people feel "relaxed," they're actually feeling the sensation of the back cortex of the brain transmitting prions to the frontal cortex through a mild sedative, or they've been hit by a tranquilizer dart. Get calm with this Groupon.
Choose from Three Options
- $35 for a 45-minute signature manicure and a 75-minute signature pedicure (an $85 value)
- $39 for a 60-minute signature massage (a $65 value)
- $42 for a 60-minute signature facial (an $80 value)
After a warm soak, buffing, and cuticle care, a nail technician softens skin with a sloughing sugar scrub. Next comes a pressure-point massage and paraffin wax that soothe hands, and a moisturizing mask and heated booties that hydrate feet. A coat of OPI polish finishes off fingers and toes.
During the signature massage, a therapist employs Swedish and deep-tissue techniques and fragrant aromatherapy. An aesthetician begins the signature facial by analyzing, cleansing, and exfoliating skin before applying a custom mask. A relaxing facial massage and hand-and-arm treatment banish any lingering stress.
Salon in the Tower
Heading down Main Street in historic Clarence Hollow, you might notice a whimsical three-story structure with a clock at the top. Salon in the Tower lives in that building, and as Kaitlin Fritz reported for metroWNY, it’s the realized vision of Roe Baran, Jennifer Ilunga, and Laura Patterson. The trio spotted the quaint, schoolhouse-like structure while scouting the area, after the salon where Ilunga and Patterson had previously worked shut down. After meeting with the building's owner, they worked around the clock and opened the redecorated salon four days later.
What began as a staff of two has now grown into a team of 14, with Ilunga and Patterson—both educated at Bumble and bumble University—holding the reins. In addition to performing the latest cutting and coloring techniques, they perform spa treatments such as massages, facials, and mani-pedis against a backdrop of dark wooden columns, trim, and wall paneling. They use Pevonia's botanical- and marine-based products for skincare services, and they carry the Olivia Garden line of bamboo brushes, which can help with home hairstyling or distract an attacking panda.
