Maria – what “regular fee + $12 each” means pick the massage you want and that is the regular fee of that particular massage. Example: 1 Hour is $95 (regular fee) plus $12 for couples set up fee. If you choose 45 minute at regular fee of $78 plus $12 – that is the regular fee meaning. Hope that explains it.
I want to buy 2 – one for me and one for my friend…if I put “2” in the total to purchase can my friend still use one if it has my name on it???
You can buy a gift – Look just under the “BUY” button – you can buy it for a friend.

Brea is right! You can buy the additional one with your Friends name on it under “buy as a gift” but you can also purchase multiple under the “Buy” button and your friend can bring it in for redemption.

careful – in trying to complete my purchase the order timed out twice but in reality went thru. Check your groupon history to make sure the amount purchased is right. It was easy to cancel the extra orders.
Wow Brea – you drive a hard bargin. Sounds like “c karos” should have lost client status if it has been 6 years since visiting (too bad ur not willing to try and make her a client today). Hang in there “c karos” and maybe the next spa to make an offer will be more interested in earning your business.

I agree with Houston Guy! My goodness… does sanctuary actually think every Groupon buyer will be a returning customer? There is no way. The whole point of Groupon (on the business standpoint) is to get customers that normally would not spend money at the establishment without the special deal. The hope is that they will return and pay full price. After six years, you should be considered a new client and they should be happy you want to spend money. Maybe there is a reason c karos has not been back!
Ouch! Scolding a former client for not coming in for six years. Not cool. And a customer once on the books but not having come in six years should be courted just as you are courting new people. Shame on you.

Is this Groupon going to have the same issues as others? What I have found (massage, haircut) is that getting an appointment after these are sold is a nightmare! Put it this way; 390 groupons sold for $100 services – where $100 gets you about an hour procedure. So 400 (1 hour) long procedures = 400 hours and the spa is open 73 hours a week. SO, if the spa only serviced Groupon holders it would take about 5.5 weeks to fulfill ONLY Groupon holders whom are new customers. Take into account that they still need their regular customers and logic will tell you, you are looking at 7-8 weeks worth of appointments pre-sold. Make sense?
So you (the groupon customers) drive a hard bargain too. I set this promotion to make people happy and now look whats going on. I was not scolding C Karos. I only meant that every six years is not taking good care of yourself and was not meant to be a scolding. Too much was read into that comment. As for looking for new clients – every business has a right to do so. I offer specials to our regular clients on an ongoing basis and take good care of those that support us regularly. I just sent Christmas gifts to over 250 clients (substantial giftcards).
So in trying to do something wonderful here at Christmas time, some of you are turning it around and making me (us) out to be the bad guy. Damned if you do and damned if you don’t…they say. What’s a girl to do?
Where’s the appreciation. I am grateful for those that have supported us in the past and look forward to receiving new clients. Sanctuary has been in business as a spa proper since 1984 – not many can say that here in Houston or elsewhere.
I set the promotion to encourage new business. Once you become a regular client, we have inhouse promotions to take care of you.
I absolutely love Andrulla at this spa. Too bad they’re not letting current customers buy in to this. Not in my budget right now to spend $100, but I’d gladly give them $50 to give as a gift to my hubby. Kinda rubs me the wrong way…….. Brea you should consider your current customers!

Howard, we understand there can be some time lag between getting in for a large number of Groupons sold, however we do try and set up that 6 month redemption for you! There is plenty of time ahead to use this Groupon for the perfect occasion! Hope this helps!

thanks Groupon for having the discussions.. it really helps the consumer make an informed decision before purchasing. I agree with many of the other respondants in saying that Brea was totally out of line in ans unprofessional. This is not the type of establishment I want to do business with.

I purchased one for my mom for Christmas, but I don’t know if she’s ever been there before. I don’t want to ruin the surprise. What happens if I don’t find out until Christmas? Is there anything I can do then?

It may be a hard one to answer. Since time is critical for your daughter, I would suggest making your appointment now and then purchasing your Groupon.

This is the first time I have ever done this as well and I don’t know what to tell you. Angie is my rep and I believe she is off this weekend. Please remember you have six months to use this so there should not be a concern. I am sure Groupon will get it worked out for you. All the payments, etc go through Groupon – not the Sanctuary.
Keep in mind we do have a cancellation policy. Last minute cancellations are charged 50% of the service you have booked. Last minute is considered the day of your appointment.
Excuse me – Ashley Miller is my rep – I don’t know where I got the name Angie. Hopefully it will work itself out or she can help with it when she returns.

It’s my understanding that you do not get your groupon until the day after the deal is done… thats how it has always been with the other groupons I have bought. So to those who were expecting to get their to use this weekend you are probably out of luck.
