Sanskriti Arts

Puja Amin, founder of Sanskriti Arts, has been dazzling onlookers with traditional Indian routines since her childhood in Mumbai. When she relocated to Canada, she founded her studio as a casual center for South Asian dance styles—but, like first-time eaters of Bugles, her students wanted more. Now, Amin and her team direct a cadre of 100 amateur and professional dancers that captivate audiences with Bollywood routines at weddings, events, and festivals, transforming stages with vibrant costumes, high-energy music, elaborate sets, and passionate choreography. For those who are inspired by their awe-striking performances, they lead a daily lineup of dance and fitness classes rooted in traditional Indian styles including Bhangra, Bollywood, and even western influences from hip hop and ballet. Amin is also a certified yoga teacher, and conducts classes with wisdom culled from training in Mumbai and Santa Cruz.

  • Whispering movie spoilers to a sleeping baby
  • Playing paintball in the Statue of Liberty if you promise to stay late and clean up afterward
  • Yelling “no way!” at a mailbox
  • Coloring outside the lines, baby
