Photographs provide the only evidence that the past existed, aside from the outdated swear words used by grandparents, such as “huckster” and “aw, chestnuts.” Make history with this Groupon.

Choose from Four Options

  • $59 for a Focus Your Creative Vision workshop for one (a $250 value)

This two-part workshop begins with a two-hour lecture by the photographer that teaches students how to use aperture, shutter speed, and lighting to snap aesthetically pleasing images. Students then venture out with Santagto to apply their new knowledge on a 90-minute photo safari.

  • $99 for a Focus Your Creative Vision workshop for two (a $500 value)

  • $49 for macro photography workshop for one (a $200 value)

Professional shutterbug Valerie Santagto instructs groups for three hours, teaching them how to take crisp, up-close images of smaller subjects.

  • $99 for an advanced photo boot camp for one (a $400 value)

During the six-hour advanced photography boot camp, experienced camera people delve into lighting techniques for both in-studio and on-location shoots. The intensive, hands-on lesson also focuses on the finer points of direction, helping students to master the art of steering a model toward their desired results for a shoot without offering too much or too little guidance. Classes are held on Saturdays; contact the studio for more information.

Santagto Photography

With 40 years of experience, Valerie Santagto’s camera lens has focused on everything from Kevin Costner’s famous baby blues to the starkly beautiful mesas of New Mexico during a decades-long career that has involved clicking her shutter for the likes of Vogue, Vanity Fair, and the New Mexico Tourism Department. Her love of Hopi culture drew Santagto to the southwest after she spent years capturing images for high-profile clients in New York and Europe, where photographers are legally required to wear berets. Now, Santagto composes headshots, documents weddings, and shares her philosophy that photography is a love affair with life through workshops that introduce pupils to the art of taking stunning images.
