Questions and Answers

I have 8 mm cassettes recorded in 1992. When I tried to look at these two years ago they appeared to have degraded significantly. The video was very snowy to the point where it was nearly impossible to see anything. Are you able to "recover" these videos using your techniques? Is there an additional charge for this?

Raymond J. asked 5 months, 26 days, 15 hours, and 33 minutes ago - 1 answer

Anderson S.

Raymond - it is hard to say without the tapes. Unfortunately tapes degrade fairly quickly and sometimes there is nothing that can be done about this. We have professional equipment and the issue could have been with the device you were using to view them and not the tapes, so we'd do everything possible to transfer them...if the tapes are degraded though we may not be able to recover them. If we cannot convert a tape we do not charge for it, so you may want to just give us a shot. We don't really have any special techniques that allow us to transfer the videos beyond our experience working with thousands of tapes a week and really high end equipment, so there would not be any upcharges involved here. Thanks and please let me know if you have any questions.

I cannot see what is on my negatives. Do you digitize all of them or only the ones that make a half-decent picture?

Gwenyth W. asked 5 months, 26 days, 16 hours, and 12 minutes ago - 1 answer

Anderson S.

Gwenyth - Unless something is a blatant bad shot (back of the camera lens, highly blurred...etc.) we will digitize it for you.

I just bought the $300 deal and I am hoping to send negatives and photos - will that work? And may I send photos in their albums or do I need to remove them? Thank you!

Gwenyth W. asked 5 months, 26 days, 16 hours, and 24 minutes ago - 1 answer

Anderson S.

Gwenyth - Yes, you can send in the negatives and photos. You may send in the albums as well. We will remove, scan and return them to the albums. This adds $0.20 per image, but is a nice option if you want to keep those albums in order. Thanks and let us know if you have any other questions.

The information indicates the $100 groupon can be used against bulk orders. What about the $300 groupon? Also for the bulk pricing does it have to be all one media type, or can a combination of photos and slides make up the bulk order? Mark

Mark J. asked 5 months, 28 days, 23 hours, and 36 minutes ago - 1 answer

Anderson S.

Mark - The $300 option is not eligible for bulk orders due to the large discount already built into the bulk pricing. You can prepay for one media type and then send in a mix of photos and slides. We would simply adjust the pricing to be a hybrid of the two pricing levels on the backend before completion. I hope that makes sense. Thanks for your interest and please let us know if you have additional questions!
