Enveloped by the sweet aroma of cocoa from the moment they enter, guests embark on a mission into the heart of dessert during this interactive factory tour. After viewing an optional video on the history of chocolate, they make their way through the facility. Samples of many delectable treats dot their path, inviting guests to plunge dippables into a tiered chocolate fountain or taste various chocolates from select regions of the world. Visitors also try their hand at chocolate work, decorating a chocolate bar or coating candies in chocolate by dipping them in some of the factory’s machines. Since chocolate-making is thirsty work, the staff supplies freshly-made hot chocolate along the tour. Groupon purchases also receive a 10% discount off 70 individually crafted chocolate selections the evening of the tour in the retail shop.

Schakolad Chocolate Factory

Baruch Schaked first took up the mantle of chocolatier in 1969, helping in his father-in-law’s South American chocolate factory. During this stint, his sweet tooth and passion blossomed, leading him to tour the world in search of chocolate-making secrets. He traveled throughout Europe, competed in the Fontainebleau Chocolate Festival, and eventually started his own business—Schakolad Chocolate Factory—in South Florida. When Baruch announced his retirement, the factory passed to the hands of his son, who continued to make his father’s renowned chocolate treats. Now owned by the third generation of Schakeds, the franchised factory continues to churn out truffles, fountains, and candy bars from locations across the country.

The Groupon Guide to: Where Babies Come From

Having “the talk” with your child can be awkward—especially if your child is still too young to understand the nuances of human reproduction or, worse, is a giggler. Postpone the difficult conversation a few more months with one of these classic explanations about where babies come from:

  • Babies are dropped down the chimney by storks who swoop down and steal them from other families.
  • Babies are hatched from the cabbage patch, so if you think about it, eating vegetables is essentially cannibalism.
  • Babies are assembled at the hospital and wrapped tightly in a blanket until all the glue is dry.
  • When a mommy and a daddy love each other very much, their psychic harmonics produce an cytoplasmic egg that must be kept in a dark closet for nine months.
  • Babies are an invention of the celebrity-obsessed media to sell magazine covers of pregnant starlets.

Is it time to tell your kids the truth about where babies come from? Learn how with today's Groupon Guide.
