Choose Between Two Options

  • $89 for four Lego robotics classes for a child aged 5.5–9 (a $180 value)
  • $89 for four Lego robotics classes for a child aged 9–14 (a $180 value)

For one hour once a week, kids sit down with experienced instructors to build and program real, working robots from Lego components. Once constructed, their mechanical pals navigate the world around them using student-installed sensors and motors that enable them to recognize objects, see light, and wonder what emotions taste like. Younger classes program their automata with drag-and-drop programming interface WeDo, whereas older classes learn to navigate the NXT-G interface. Classes are currently scheduled on Tuesday–Thursday evenings and Saturday afternoons.

Scieinsteins

Scieinsteins engineers build armies of robots every day, but they don’t pose much danger to humanity—even children can control them. Which they do. Using Lego kits, sensors, motors, and age-appropriate programming software, elementary- and middle-school students fashion bots that interact with the world around them and carry out instructions. Beyond the robots, Scieinsteins’ educators lead several other classes that get kids excited about science, math, technology, and engineering. For instance, an electronics course uses circuit boards to build devices including an organ that reacts to light and a lie detector to help figure out which parent really ate the Halloween candy.

The Groupon Guide to: Types of Cousins

Since so many people seem to be having babies, a lot more cousins are being made every single day. Here's a handy guide you can consult if you want to keep your cousins straight:

  • First Cousin: Your aunt and uncle’s child
  • Second Cousin: Your aunt and uncle’s pet
  • Third Cousin: Not real
  • Cousin Once Removed: Cousin who was ordered to never again attend family functions but then later appealed the ruling and was reinstated by a judge who understood just how important family is in today's fast-paced society
  • Half Cousin: Your aunt and uncle’s half child/half pet
  • Cou: Shorthand for half cousin
  • Whole Cousin: Two half cousins standing near each other
  • Craisin: Cousin named Craig
  • Cousig: Different cousin named Craig
  • Grandparent: Young cousin who just looks really old

How can I make sure my once-removed cousin never returns? Find out in today's Groupon Guide.
