Taking photos is a great way to document your life and convince yourself at any given moment that you're not just a brain floating in a jar somewhere. Get existential evidence with this Groupon.

Choose Between Two Options

  • $34 for a 2-hour photography class for one (an $80 value)
  • $64 for a 2-hour photography class for two (a $160 value)

Camera classes range from Fresh Out of the Box sessions, which define basic terms and include a Q&A portion, to the 400-level class, during which students review how to manipulate shutter speed, aperture, and ISO light meters. Lighting classes focus on the use of flash or natural light, and composition-based lessons impart tips for taking attractive product photos or assembling a portfolio. The endless possibilities of Photoshop open up to students during one of four postproduction classes. Though it isn’t a requirement, Scott recommends students bring their own DSLR or advanced point-and-shoot cameras to classes. Click here for a class schedule.

Scott Faber Photography

Though Scott Faber might see examples of his work on magazine stands, book jackets, and the Internet—where he's contributed snapshots to U.S. News & World Report—he feels a deeper connection to the pictures that encapsulate relationships. From wedding-themed shoots to records of maternity and childhood growth, his largely candid sessions adapt to preserve each family's rapport in scenic outdoor locales, such as Duke Gardens, or inside the studio.

Scott doesn't shy from photographic challenges; he brings the same ingenuity and college-mascot costume heads to corporate group poses as he does to high-school senior portraits. He encourages his clients to push their aesthetic boundaries as well, whether through his in-depth photography classes or before-and-after pictures for those who donate their hair to Locks of Love.

The Groupon Guide to: Holiday Storefront Displays

This is a time of year when storefronts everywhere come to life with magical holiday tableaus, from meticulously calibrated animatronics to hasty paintings. What traditional displays might you see this year?

  • Animatronic Rudolph with cool laser-pointer nose
  • Frankenstein still up from Halloween, now wearing Santa hat
  • Window painting of snowman family who can't believe the low, low rates on brand-name mattresses
  • Chaotic nativity scene composed from real, alive, trapped animals
  • Employee who looks exactly like Santa, except for the eye patch and persistent cough

What are the most popular holiday window displays of all time?
