Similar question as Jenny. I quickly bought this as a gift without asking if my friend was a member at some point in her past. If she was a member at some point, does this mean she couldn’t use this gift card? Is it transferable if this was a problem?

I called the box office and had them look up my friend’s name. I did not attempt to get my other questions answered as she had not been a member. My suggestion would be to call the box office.

How does this work, exactly? Is this a festival over a short period of time or is it a membership for the year? What exactly does one get for buying this groupon? I love going to films!

This membership is for a full year. It gives you discounts on films playing at SIFF Cinema (near McCaw Hall at Seattle Cinema) throughout the year. It also gives you discounts on tickets and passes for the festival itself which is in May and June each year. Here are some links showing the discounts available to SIFF members:

For example, the discount on individual tickets is $2 per film ($1 on matinees).

Ok, thanks. If my husband and I go to a film together, do we need individual memberships or can one buy two tickets for a film or other offerings using the same membership card?

Hi Patricia, I don’t know what the official policy is on that for SIFF Cinema Films. I do know that during the festival itself, you can use up to two tickets from a single six-pack for the same film. In this case, you would only need a single membership to buy the discounted six-pack.

I am curious as to why my order for 3 SIFF memberships has not been processed. I clicked on “Buy” about 5 hours ago BUT Your order is currently being processed has shown since I placed the order. 1 membership is for me and the others are gifts. I actually canceled my membership and reordered but still same comment. Also next to the gifts there is an exclamation point in a yellow triangle. I really would like to make sure I place the order before it is toooooooooo late. Thanks

I bought a membership via this Groupon, but there is absolutely no way that I can be downtown from 10am to 4pm on a weekday to redeem this… Is there any option for those of us who have 9-5 full-time jobs to redeem it? There has to be, right?

It says my groupon expires today, December 4, 2009…. Does that mean I have to redeem this today? If I take it in next week will it be useless?

Why didn’t you say this Groupon had to be redeemed in person the next day, in business hours. I paid for a membership, not a worthless piece of expired paper. It is impossible for me to go to the SIFF box office in person during the work week. I expect to have a membership with SIFF, or a code I can use on their website. If you can not find a way to deliver that, I expect you to send me a check to SIFF for the price of a supporter membership. I have e-mailed your support address, I expect to be contacted right away with a resolution. My support ticket is 69530.

The Groupon actually expires Dec 4, 2010 – so you have a full year within which to redeem.
