During the holiday season, Sesame Place transforms into A Very Furry Christmas, a holiday celebration where the streets come alive with multicolored lights and music. Amid the festivities, a huge Sesame Street Christmas tree treats onlookers to a stunning light show as snowflakes fall from the sky, and a Neighborhood Street Party Christmas Parade dazzles with floats and songs such as "Jingle Bells" and "Let it Snow."

After they're tuckered out from enjoying rides (weather permitting), shopping for gifts, meeting Santa Claus, and feasting on special Christmas meals, families make their way to three shows, each performed three or more times a day. During A Sesame Street Christmas show, Abby, who grew up in Fairyland, learns about Christmas traditions from her Sesame Street friends. With a little encouragement from Santa, Elmo finds the perfect gift for Dorothy in the Elmo's World Live! Happy Holidays show, whereas Elmo, Cookie Monster, Grover, Zoe, Rosita, and Murray band together for the song-and-dance-filled Elmo's Christmas Wish show.

Sesame Place

At Sesame Place, kids and adults alike meet and play with their favorite furry friends—from classics friends such as Big Bird, Bert, Ernie, and Elmo to newer additions such as Abby Cadabby and Murray. Pose for pictures in a life-size re-creation of the TV show's classic set, soar 40 feet above the park in Big Bird's Balloon Race, or travel to the outer reaches of the solar system during a youth-appropriate roller coaster ride at Vapor Trail. After kids have ridden the rides or scaled three-story-high net tunnels, they can sit down to munch at Elmo's Eatery or Cookie's Café.

The park's attractions change with the seasons. In the summertime, water rides such as a lazy river keep kids cool, and visitors can rent their own 10'x10' cabanas. In the winter, the park lights up with Christmas-themed attractions, inviting visitors to marvel at a holiday parade or eat milk and cookies with Santa while enjoying a holiday-themed story time and taking pictures with their favorite furry friends.

The Groupon Guide to: Award-Winning Documentaries

Critics have described this year’s crop of award-winning documentary films as “exciting,” “revelatory,” and “boring in the middle.” Here are the plot summaries for this season’s best documentaries:

  • A man only washes himself with industrial car-wash fluid for an entire year to prove that industrial car-wash fluid is bad for you.

  • A group of preteen world handwriting champions prepare for the greatest challenge yet—signing their own permission slips.

  • A woman who accidentally locked herself in her closet for five years reassimilates to living in the rest of her house.

  • A man who starred in an embarrassing 1980s public-service announcement about the dangers of eating shellfish has his humiliating past dug up by a documentary film crew.

  • A group of people who were born without joints in their toes climbs Mount Kilimanjaro.

  • The terrifying secret about how ice cream is made

  • A bunch of people who did drugs together at an abandoned airplane hangar in the ‘70s get back together to talk about it.

  • One man sets out to expose the problem with the country’s public schools by enrolling his dog in the country’s public schools and seeing if they notice.
