During keratome LASIK surgery, Dr. Siems cuts a paper-thin flap above the corneas using a miniscule blade on the patient's numbed eyes. Once the corneas have been exposed, he uses a laser beam to target them, correcting nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. The in-office procedure takes fewer than 10 minutes and includes one year of follow-up care.
