Seventeenth-century shipping routes drastically improved once navigators began referring to actual maps of waterways instead of the veins on their calves. Steer clear of veiny skin with this Groupon.

Developed more than 75 years ago, the cosmetic procedure known as sclerotherapy treats spider veins with a solution similar to salt water. Once injected into the vein, the solution generates a mild irritation that causes the walls of the blood vessel to disappear over the course of several weeks. Treatment sessions can take 15–45 minutes; after the treatment, most patients wear support stockings and restrict their exercise for one or two days. The number of treatments necessary for optimal results depends on the severity of each case.
SkinKlinic of Edina
Overseen by Dr. Scott Ross, a cosmetic surgeon with more than 25 years of professional experience, the Minneapolis Center for Cosmetic and Laser Surgery and SkinKlinic of Edina collectively treat more than 9,000 patients every year with a combination of surgical, non-invasive, and cosmetic laser treatments. The health-care professionals and paramedical aestheticians enlist Mensa–worthy technology and techniques as they reinvigorate the epidermis or invent entirely new looks. Before asking patients to commit to a particular treatment, the team invites prospective clients in for a complimentary 20-minute consultation to learn more about the procedure, the technology, and the history of the tongue depressor.
