Can this be used for a back facial?
Reviews on yelp are very negatively mixed but there are only five which IMO is no where near enough to draw a real conclusion on this place:

Do you need to have follow-up appointments? I could only afford to come to the initial visit – is it worth it?
This is good if you been here before, but I know I would never trust a spa with a chemical peel if I never had a regular facial there. They have bad yelp reviews of burning skin. I would like it for a regular facial, just not a peel.
I also went to yelp for some inside info. Reviews are shaky at best. As much as I love a good facial and a great deal, I’m going to pass on this one.
Is this only for women?

hi dawn- both treatments are medical grade- the glycolic peel is 30-40% strength which cannot be found in a day spa. the microdermabrasion machine is also medical grade and is stronger and penetrates deeper than a typical one found in a day spa. The mask is made of of growth factors that rebuild colegen and elastin and also only sold to a doctor. Results are immediate and are noticeable after the treatemnt. I hope that helps! Hi—I am very intrigued by this offer, but I am in my early 20s and have pretty good skin, albeit a bit sensitive. Does that mean something like a peel or a microderm would be too intense for my skin?

How much will the tax come to? Is it taxed on the original 265 price or on the 55 price? Either way do you know what the total will be. I have sensitive skin, and what I believe is rosacea. Will this be too harsh for my skin. Would the consultation deal with issues like rosacea?

This treatment is recomended for all age goups. It has an anti aging benefit as well as works really well at destroying the bacteria underneath the skin that causes acne. We would probably recomend the peel which is a chemical exfoliation and better for a a patient that has acne. There is a consultation before that will go over everything with the patient. If you will recall YOU are the one that misinformed me and told me that they WERE included so it’s a little rude to say “as discussed in the offer” as if I should know that already. I don’t know about this offer… Skintherap keeps mentioning the bad reviews on Yelp are because that was for a service they offered for charity. Does this mean that any discounted services they offer (whether for charity or, like here, with a coupon) will be offered at a lesser quality than normally? If this is the case, I don’t know I want to risk getting a chemical peel where ‘something’ is not 100%: inexperienced esthetician or on training, no presence of the doctor, hidden fees, esthetician not using the same product or using it more sparingly, etc.

Does anyone want to sell their groupon for SkinTherapy that was offered two days ago? I was out of range of an internet connection and did not look at the groupon for the day and I was disappointed that I missed out! Thanks!
Dear Hannah K, you did not missed out anything. I used my Groupon and the entire appointment lasts about 25 minutes. I was so excited about the skin scan, but you only see a few different pictures, without too many explications or advise. I chose the Glycolic Peel and that’s pretty much what you get. A three minutes treatment and a layer of sunscreen.
Maybe I had too many professional treatments and I know what to expect, but this aesthetician applied everything only with her right hand and she kept wiping her hands with the same towel that was under my head. It was distracting and disgusting.
When it comes to massaging my head, neck and shoulders during a facial I prefer a gentle, relaxing touch, not the tapping of the head (with loose fists!) and never karate chops on my shoulders when I am laying on my back.
This was the worst groupon offer ever, it lasted about 20 minutes and the actual facial was a big disappointment. I have had professional facials done so I know what to expect. This was not worth $55 dollars none the l. I liess paid the original price. I like Cris had the Glycolic Peel and the same karate chops with the only advise being sunscreen,sunscreen, sunscreen. Also, I am Black and being constantly told we have beautiful skin when my skin is not that great(dry, sensitive and rather dul)l made me a little uncomfortable and patronized to say the least. Groupon needs more clarity because I would have left this experience alone. So if you are giving this Groupon as a gift don’t expect a true thanks.

After reading the comments here, I don’t think I want to go through with my groupon. The “amazing reviews” (link provided by Skintherap) on yelp are suspect. These reviews have been filtered and the users are not established (each has one or two reviews over a long period of time and are usually 5 stars). I must do more diligence next time.
I got this groupon for FREE and am still considering not using it because i don’t want it to actually damage my skin. Was it just a bad deal if you paid, or do you guys actually recommend I don’t use it at all with the risk of my skin turning out badly?
I had the microdermabrasion done a few days ago. I’ve never had one done before so can’t compare,however, it was not a crushing disappointment in service as it seems to have been for some. Her advise followed the information I had recently gotten from my Dermatologist and her touch was not rough. My skin felt soft and was “brighter” when I was done. I feel like while it may not have been worth $265, it was certainly worth $55.

I used this in July and it was a bad exprience. Think they just wanted to get rid of you as soon as you showed the coupon. Microdermabrasion lasted about 1 minute! Staff not very friendly and it was barely worth the $55. Only useful thing to me was the skin consultation.

This gropuon was never advertised as a facial, but as a facial treatment. The peel thatis used is 30-50% pure medical grade glycolic peel. A day spa ( non medical) uses 2-3 % glycolic by law is all they are allwoed to use. Due to this strong and effective concentration leavng it on longer on your skin ,can damage your skin. We determine the time period to leave the peel on based on your skin type which you have described as sensitve. In the past you may have had a treatment at a day spa that can extend the treamrnt time becasue of the low concentration of the products that are used. I waited till the last minute to book my appointment before my Groupon expired, and thought I was to late, but the Spa was so accommodating and let me book it after the expiration date as they were fully booked. My appointment date finally arrived and I was so happy with the treatment and loved Jen my Aesthetician. I have had micro’s before and this one was definitely very deep yet relaxing, the mask was a nice touch. I am so glad I was able to take advantage of the special (even though it was a year later) and will be back to Skin Thera P for sure.
This was worth it. I went a couple a weeks ago and my skin has been so improved. The treatment itself was lovely. My technician, Jennifer, was so sweet and knowledgeable, and the advise she gave me for at home care really worked! I even met with the doctor after my treatment to discuss other treatment options for my skin and he was very helpful, I’ll be coming in to see him again real soon.
Skin Thera P was such a great experience for me. First off I had my groupon for so long. It was expiring on the may 13th and i was so upset because I didn’t think I would be able to get an appointment before it expired. I called there and no they didn’t have an appointment before that date, but they honored it anyway and gave me an appointment for a later date. I thought that was so great. When I did go in for my appointment the staff was extremely friendly and the woman who did my facial took her time, explained to me exactly what she was doing, and at the end of it recommended a great skin care regimen for me that I could easily do myself at home. I will definitely be going back. In fact I already booked my next appointment!!!!!
