Professional skydivers provide on-the-ground instruction before carting students skyward in a Pilatus Porter airplane. Once the aircraft exceeds 2 miles in altitude, the instructors strap themselves together with their students and leap out the door. During the free fall, the pair reach speeds of 120 miles per hour before deploying the chute and enjoying a gentle five minute ride back to earth. Beneath their feet, the duo enjoy stunning aerial views of Myrtle Beach and its surrounding seas.

Skydive Myrtle Beach

When Skydive Myrtle Beach’s instructors say that their careers are plummeting, they aren’t being pessimistic about their employment prospects—they’re telling the literal truth. Many of these professional plungers boast a background in the military and Special Operations, putting their extensive airborne experience to work helping civilians learn the art and thrill of free falling. They provide one-on-one instruction on the ground for new skydivers before loading them into a Pilatus Porter airplane for a 15-minute ride to altitude. At a height of a little more than 2 miles, they strap onto their students and execute a high-altitude jump, reaching speeds of 120 miles per hour before deploying the chutes. The resulting drift to earth lasts about five minutes, allowing students the perfect opportunity to capture photos of Myrtle Beach or very incautious birds.

The Groupon Guide to: Being Too Big for Your Britches

No one likes people who are boastful—especially if they can’t back it up with substance. Consult this helpful guide to find out if you are too big for your britches:

  • Does your mouth write checks your butt can’t cash?
  • Is the volume of your bark disproportionate to the incapacitating power of your bite?
  • Do people condescendingly affix “mister” to the front of your name?
  • Are you all bluster and no muster?
  • Has anyone ever held you in place by affixing their palm against the top of your head while their abdomen stayed just out of reach of your windmilling fists?
  • Do you have to constantly pull up your trousers because they’re all that’s left of your father, a husky fighter pilot whose last words to you were “I have to go away for a while, champ”?

How can you tell if you’re too big for your britches? This guide can help you out.
