$125 for a Static-Line Dive with a First-Jump Course ($209 Value)

Instructors brief students in a four- to five-hour ground-school course, covering safety and equipment before flying them up to 3,000 feet in a small, single-engine Cessna plane for a static-line jump. Each student straps into a harness—which is attached to the plane via a flexible static line—and performs a poised exit jump from the plane's side strut. After the student falls for up to three seconds, the attached line deploys a canopy parachute. The course takes place Saturdays and Sundays starting at 9:30 a.m.

Skydive! Toledo

Divers' clothing flaps in the wind as they soar toward a patchwork of meadows, with forests spreading out in all directions and mountains looming on the horizon. Sometimes, as the wind rushes past their ears, they can look out and glimpse seven volcanoes in the distance. But before these jumps, Skydive! Toledo's instructors impart the necessary safety measures, touching on how to ensure a parachute has been maintained, how to land, and how to use a guidebook to ask birds for directions. After briefing visitors on the basics, expert jumpers help them learn the physics firsthand on tandem jumps and accelerated free-fall plunges from small Cessna aircraft. They also train first-time skydivers through the static-line program—a former military exercise now used to train sports parachutists toward licenses. From the strut of a single-engine Cessna plane, at an altitude of 3,000 feet, a student leaps into the air and falls for up to three seconds before a static line attached to the plane deploys a parachute and takes the guesswork out of pulling the ripcord.

The Groupon Guide to: Urgent Warnings to Shout at Horror-Movie Characters

A well-timed movie-theater outburst can stop a character in a horror movie from getting killed—or worse. What are some helpful things you can shout at the screen the next time you see a scary movie?

  • "Look behind you!"
  • "Look behind you—into that mirror! The killer was in front of you the whole time!"
  • "Look inside yourself! There you'll find the key to your survival: self-confidence."
  • "Look inside yourself! There you'll find the key to your survival: a literal key." (Saw movies only)
  • "Look out! The killer's too legit too quit!"
  • "No, don't split up! That's what my parents did and that was awful!"
  • "Don't go in there!"
  • "Do go in there! 'There' being a state of situational awareness in which you decide against entering the place you were about to go into."
  • "Don't look in the closet! That's where the killer is hiding his spare clothes!"
  • "Just relax. Time murders us all eventually."

When is it okay to scream at a movie?
