I asked a question below and you only partially answered it. You did not answer if you could save the media in a "Quick Time" format, and if not, WHAT format? I need to know that I can use the converted digital media for my purposes. Q: I have two questions. 1. What is the cost of converting a 50 ft. 3 minute Super8 reel of film? I have a wedding reel that has all the little ones spliced together. Do you charge by the foot as well? 2. Can you save the digital media in a Quick Time format? If not, what is the format? I am a Mac user, A: Hey Roy! We charge by the reel. 50 foot reels are the 3" reel option, and that is $15.95 per reel! You can order a Data DVD on top of the reel conversion, and that can be put into digital format which can be edited on your computer or stored digitally! Thanks!

Hey Roy, I apologize about that! The Data DVD files are MPEG-4 format. Thanks!

I have a number of very small 8mm film reels. I don't know how many feet they each consist of. How do I determine it and what would it cost per reel to DVD?

phyllis s. asked 3 months, 27 days, 12 hours, and 50 minutes ago - 1 answer

Southtree- Amanda

Hey Phyllis! We charge by the reel. You can measure the diameter of the reel to determine how much it would cost. 3" reels are $15.95 per reel, 5" reels are $59.95 per reel, and 7" reels are $109.95 per reel. Thanks!

Thanks for the quick response, just one more question! I have been looking at getting a number of VCR tapes converted for some time and Southtree has been on my list of converters. Some competitors claim that they can enhance the quality of the DVD copies by using Video Processors like a BVP-4 to improve the reproductions. Southtree does not mention the availability of this option on their web site and I was wondering if they do offer this service or is the whole idea just a sales pitch, i.e. "Garbage in Garbage out"! Thanks again!

Joe Z. asked 3 months, 29 days, 7 hours, and 4 minutes ago - 1 answer

Southtree- Amanda

Hey Joe! We do not offer any "special enhancing" options, however, we use the same equipment as the Academy of Motion Pictures, and the quality is naturally improved when we convert your tapes!

Southtree- Amanda answered 3 months, 28 days, 11 hours, and 11 minutes ago

how does a date copy differ from a regular copy

Joe Z. asked 3 months, 29 days, 11 hours, and 49 minutes ago - 1 answer

Southtree- Amanda

Hey Joe! The Data DVD allows you to make edits on your computer or store it digitally. The Standard DVD is a regular DVD that can be played in your DVD player or PC. Thanks!
