Is one treadment sufficient or are more be needed? I have acne pot marks that are showing up more with age. I am 60 yrs old. How effective is this treatment for my problem?

Hi Randy, Microdermabrasion is recommended initialy in a series of 6 treatments, spaced 3-4 weeks apart. Beyond that, maintenance treatments every 4-6 weeks. Clients do see results after a single treatment. However, in your particular case acne scarring required a bit more finesse. There are many options for you including: microdermabrasion, chemical peels and of course laser treatments. Does the microdermabrasion offer include a facial after the treatment or are we getting the microderm only?

Hi Jo, When you come in for your microdermabrasion appointment, your skin will be prepped for the treatment. This prep includes a double cleanse - first manual, second with Clarisonic - tone, the microdermabrasion treatment followed by a treatment cream based on your particular skin's needs, and of course UV protection. The treatment does not include a mask or facial massage, which are included in our facials. Thanks for your question.

Judie, Microdermabrasion is an exfoliation of the uppermost layers of skin - the eipdermis. While this treatment does lighten age spots by removing layers of dead skin that has a darkening effect to the skin, microdermabrasion alone cannot remove age spots. If age spots are of concern to you, we have serveral options to lighten/remove them. Microdermabrasion combined with either chemical peels, hydroquinone, or both WILL eliminate age spots. Of course, once the spots are removed/lightened, you must continue to wear the proper sunscreen to prevent future damage.
